We will all have to wait and see what indiscretions Desi think Andy has inflicted on her.

RE Stormrider's: "But what does the name "Andorinha" mean again? I thought there was somewhere on these boards where you said what it meant."
Yeah, have no idea where I mentioned the definition, but Andorinha is Portuguese for the split-tailed bird, the Swallow.

Well, it is fitting for a Wild Hobbit to have a name relating to nature in some way. Are you a bird watcher in real life? I know you rock climb.

Yeah, general "nature enthusiast," birds, lizards, and we have a bob-cat that drops by about every-other year to have her kittens in an unfrequented, bushy-overgrown corner of the yard...
I've got a little piece, as a place-holder while Desi gets ready to advance the plot -- it straightens-out what really happened at breakfast, a more objective account to balance the record...

Uh huh . . . straightened out what really happened at breakfast, is it? At least in the eyes of Andy!
Are DA and Stormrider supposed to actually know Andy yet? I was thinking we had heard of you after your smelly arrival in Rivendell but hadn't made your acquantaince yet.

Ah, good question, Stormrider! Originally I had not intended to use the Andorinha persona at all, but the various names, Andy, the old Goat, and Andorinha were soon introduced. I think the first undisputed connection of the "poetic" lurker on the rock comes in Fanuidhol's Reply #8: "'Ahh,Stormrider...Stormrider? Ewww...yuck, do you smell that?' Stormrider had come behind DaleAnn and wrinkled her nose. 'Yep, I do. It's Kar...Andorinha. We must be downwind.' 'What's that noise?' 'Oh, he's either yodeling or trying to recite poetry. I can't really tell.' She shut the window. "Here, let's sit on this bench, ok?" They settled into the velvet cushions. … She shuddered at the thought of having to befriend the odoriferous, yodeling Andy..haha. Did she bring ear and noseplugs?" So, from this moment on, at least DaleAnn seems to know the creature as Andorinha, ans apparently has vastly underestimated his poetic skills... From this point on, my Reply #9, I just followed Fan's lead and adopted the connection of the "Lurker" with the name Andorinha... But this does bring up a "backstory" problem -- apparently Andorinha knows you two from elsewhere/ else when as he names you in Reply 6 before actually coming into your presences. Andorinha Reply #6: He scrambled up the face of a grey, granite rock, and lay exposed to the winds as he watched the settlement below. "Yep, something's stirring, there goes Elrond at a mighty pace, bet Stormrider finally got that slug-a-bed DaleAnn to wake up. Well, we're in for it now." So "Andorinha knew you two from his initial appearance, even though he was not yet known to be Andorinha until Reply 8... LOL At any rate the Lurker is now Andorinha, and apparently Fan and Stormy knew him before this Rivendell adventure, and he knew them, even if only slightly. Now, he also seems to have had a prior connection with poor Desi - sigh, hope he doesn't owe her too much money, his computer-fund savings are gone... Hmmm we might need a backstory filler about the time Desi posts, as she will have to detail some of her run-in with Andy earlier in time? Maybe this was when Stormrider and DaleAnn first met "Andy" (briefly?). Or, we can just let it slide past without comment?

Oooooo! What is in those saddlebags that is so important that Andy would snatch it and you take off after him for it? A Mystery Goody!
Yeah, after I posted my above comment about not knowing you, I remembered reading something about us knowing (of) each other. I guess Stormrider and DaleAnn were just in a hurry to get DA outside for fresh air and to get her limbs some exercise and didn't stop to talk to Andy since he was stuffing his face anyway.

I was under the impression that Stormy knew Andy even if only by reputation, but, DaleAnn didn't. But, that's ok. I can work with it.
FYI everyone, DaleAnn's pronunciation of "Andorinha" is "Andy...haha".
So, why did Andy...haha steal Desi's backpack? Hmmmm....I've got to find out. My turn. Fan

I thought Andy might be the suggestion Gandalf gave Stormrider to help aid us in our travels since he was already embroiled with the Fellowship's Quest. Maybe a Wild Hobbit who has traveled/lived with Rangers of the North and picked up some helpful skills.

Hmmm, now that I re-read it, I think it has become too ponderous, and I'll retract my last post and let someone else come up with an explanation of Andy's theft.
