Well, I forgot to post this yesterday which was actually THE Official Anniversary Day. I never did get around to re-loading a new chatroom for the annual Anniversary Chat. It seems that the java isn't so compatible with some of your pcs or macs anyway. Happy 1th Anniversary to those who are still here!

By golly, 11 years...
I had hoped the movie Hobbit would have brought back some of the Old Timers, sigh -- still remember Jersey Shore and Dead Chicken Man fondly, and good old Iawain Ben Adar, Megan1, DA, Majah, Greenleaf, Soliel, Algamesh, and Fangorn/ Glorfindle... sigh.
I noted that the old TABA site (once boasting 2000 + members) has also remained deadly silent. Has the Tolkien phenomenon had its "internet day," the "book of the Century" passed its prime? LOL -- well a few commentary sites, like ours do continue...

I think most of the fans have migrated to TheOneRing.net as the center of Tolkien discussion. There aren't as many independent sites like this one. Happy anniversary, everyone!

TORN seems to be the biggest Tolkien Fan site these days. They get all the news coverage and have more people to help them out with their site/forum. I visit there once in a while but haven't really posted anything over there.
Yes, I miss all the good ole TR members from the early days of TR. We sure had tons of fun and it was very difficult to keep up on everything that was getting posted over there. I would spend the whole evening online reading and posting back.
Well, I guess The Hobbit movie wasn't enough inspiration to bring some of our members back out to say something about it.
