I just watched a short animation based on Ainulindale, the Music of the Ainur (the Middle-earth creation story). It was pretty stunning. I love how abstract the Ainur are until they take on humanoid form. My only quibble is that it showed a round world, rather than the flat Arda from the early stories (and yes, that's me in the comment section bringing this up. I'm such a purist ). Check it out. And make sure to wait after the credits for a Marvel-style teaser. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy7a6yUc8zo

I enjoyed it very much... Except I had trouble with the copyright infringement and the lack of credit to the narrator, Martin Shaw who did the audiobook version of Sil. (Unless I blinked and did not see it.) Fan

(Unless I blinked and did not see it.) Fan Is that where that came from? Hmm, yeah, that's a little shady. This is probably just an exercise in practicing animation skills for these creators so they're not making any money off of it. Still, they should have credited him.

It ended up bothering me too much to let it go...so I left a comment. They replied "Ooops." Added the credit to Martin Shaw to the description. I found their website: willow-productions.com/They are a commercial company in Singapore. Kinda doubt they are worried about copyrights. Fan

I enjoyed this short. Very well done. I really got the feeling of Arda being created like "the big bang theory" especially with Melkor's additions/interference. It seems the world was depicted as round, but with the placement of the two lamps (in the middle of the globe--not on the north and south poles), they were only placed in what seemed to be the general Arda location--at least as I always pictured it in relation to the whole globe in my own mind as I read The Silmarillion.
