Is there a pony called "The Pied Piper," in one of these books? Vaguely remembering the series -- think I was 4 when we went to Chincoteague from Alexandria VA, where my dad was stationed for Pentagon duty with the Air Force. Me mum read us "Misty," maybe the others as well. When we visited the island, it was just a small town with nice beaches, some stables and a few grumpy ponies for the tourists. I guess Assateague (spelling?) is where the wild ponies hang out, and I wanted desperately to go there and get "our" pony -- but I do not think we ever got to that island. Still remember the waves on the shore and the ranks of heavy cumulus clouds racing overhead...

Yes, Andy! Pied Piper is Misty's father. I always wanted to go to the islands (clever calling them islands rather than having to look up the spelling) as a child. But, that was not to be. So as an adult with the kids in one of our forays "down south", I told them we were taking a detour. So, made it to both islands, just by car, no real sightseeing or stepping out to feel the sand and wind. Didn't see ANY ponies, either. *sigh*
