Thank you. They do clean up well for pictures! Does the internet problem also keep you off LOTRO or is it just the forum. or all websites?

And can't believe nearly 8 weeks have passed! I'm sure the time dragged for you, his family, though. Keeping fingers crossed it goes well.

Desi won't get her call from Quenten until sometime between 2:00pm and 9:00pm saying "I am a Sailor!" There are 300 young people who need to make the call and they each get 30-40 minutes on the phone. So we are anxiously awaiting the phone call!

Fireman Quenten S. Pal -- (Nuclear Sailors are called Firemen instead of Seamen, Those learning to fly are Airmen, etc.) is heading off the nuclear engineering school to learn to be an Electrician's Mate (EM) who focus their learning on electrical breakers, basic electrical generators, and electrical motors. Electrician's Mate A-School lasts approximately 24 weeks. Then they are on T-Track after graduation. This is a hold period between A-School and Power School It can be 1 week to 8 weeks long depending on when A-School graduation was. Then they can go to the same Power School with the Machinist Mates MMs and Electronic Techs ETs. (These are the other types of Nuclear Rates. MMs learn high-level algebra and mechnical/hydraulic systems and ETs focus on advanced algebra and electronic theory and electronic equipment maintenance.) Power School is 24 weeks long and EMs, ETs, and MMs are taught reactor power plant theory and operations, as well as more nuclear physics and advanced algebra.

He has grown up, Fanuidhol. He is now a brave handsome young man. And he is very tall, too! He arrived at O'Hare airport along with several other Sailors who are flying out of that airport. All the families were there to greet them and there was a band playing for them. Very touching. Wish I could post videos here. Here is one of the official U.S. Navy pictures they took. He looks more like himself with out glasses since he usually wears contacts. But at boot camp they could only wear glasses.
