Here I am playing LOTRO at the campfire last night. Very peaceful and calming outside at the campfire last night. The Hubby put our small TV outside and was watching football, too My Faithful Guard dog, Twizzle, watches over me while I play.

Twizzle is a good looking guard dog! She's fully grown into her ears! Twizzle's Mom looks very happy!

Wow! Yes, Twizzle has really has changed -- looks very business-like, guardian type now. Camping looks fun!

Crumby morning. I have off work for Columbus Day but Mike had to go to work. He left and a bit later I got up and started to wake up. I wanted to take Twizzle out to go potty, but she was being lazy and didn't want to get off the couch. So I thought "I'll go outside really quick and make her wonder where I was going so that she would want to come out." Well, I opened the door and went outside and closed it behind me. But when I tried to get in, Mike had locked the door handle lock so I was locked out! Also my cell phone and all my keys were still inside. If the bolt had been locked from inside, the door wouldn't have been opened so I never thought that Mike would have locked the handle part of the door which was separate.
It was rather early so I didn't want to bother any of my camping neighbors. . . yet! I waited about an hour and a half hoping someone would emerge from their campers but no one was budging! So finally I went to our neighbors across the road hoping them might by now be at the kitchen table having breakfast ... and they were!
But because I have a cell phone, I didn't know my husband or daughter's cell numbers to call them--they are in the phone and no need to memorize them. But luckily they both work at the City of Marengo and I called that and got Desi. Of course, Mike was busy at work and couldn't come back, but Desi's husband was off work on Mondays, so he drove out to Marengo and came with the key!

Oh man. Hate it when that happens.
One time at work, locked the doors as I was getting out of the car. Closed the door and realized....the car was still running! LOL!
Not so funny, was one time that a locked house door closed on me. I was on the outside and my two very young toddlers were in the house alone. I didn't spend any time thinking about it. Broke the basement window and crawled back in.

I put the gazebo together myself last Friday, but had to wait for hubby to come home from work to hold up legs and top extensions for me to screw them together. The mesh curtain helps keep mosquitos out. Now I need to see what I can buy for a solid curtain to go around to block the afternoon sun. We are going to run electric to it so we can put a tv out there and some lights. (Of course, the tv will come inside for the night) Looking for a light & fan combo for the center of the ceiling, too.
I'm going to get a newer smart phone with the jetpack hotspot thru Verizon sometime this week and will be playing LOTRO in the gazebo soon. Then we need to look into dish or direct tv to get better tv selections.

Oooo, really like the "campsite!" Wow, forgot how green it is up there...
Er, so you put up the gazebo, hmm, I might need a shed some day for garden tools, do you hire out? Really looks nice! Now you just need the electronics sorted.

Yes, very green up here! However, with the rain and hot weather alternating, we have a gazillion mosquitos. I was thinking I can't wait to travel to Arizona campgrounds with stony and sandy sites to run from the mosquitos!
Well, my son put up the tool shed with my help. So I can't claim expertise on that! LOL! Perhaps for a cool million $$$ (following Fan's lead) I could figure out how to do it, too! I would need you to hold up walls though and hand me the roof pieces.

Great job putting up the gazebo! For part of that cool million, I'll come hold up walls and give you roof pieces at Andy's house. I have experience!
Would you be allowed to put up a Purple Martin apartment house on a pole? We have Barn Swallows here that take care of our mosquitoes. We have what we call "bottomland" adjacent to a creek. A decent portion stays marshy for 10 months a year. It dries out around mid-July to mid-September. We hardly ever get bothered by them. Chiggers on the other hand......

OK -- figure my best shot at amassing the great wealth required for shed construction is to go out prospecting -- will let you two know when I've got a million or such. Hmm, wonder if the ladies know about fools' gold?
Have seen no mosquitoes for a couple of years now, seems to be drier this year, even the mountain creeks are dry... Everyone expecting a nasty fire season...
Some people do have bird houses in the backyards, not the large-communal mansions, usually smallish things for wrens. Have not seen purple martins down here, but did have a group of noisy, bullying grackles stop by for about a week. They chased the finches from the bath, ate up the wall lizards, made raucous cackles -- was not sad when they moved on (having exhausted the supply of lizards).

Fan: I would not mind sharing a million smackaroos with you to help build the shed! It would be a fun building party for all of us! Andy: We know how to bite into the gold to see if it is fools gold or not, so no funny buziness from you!
Andy: yeah, I figured no skeeters down by you!
I would think we could put up a purple martin house. There already was a small bird house on a dead tree on our site next to the shed which houses some sparrows. Other campsites have hummingbird feeders, etc. on their sites. Would a purple martin apartment need to be really tall? If they were hungry for skeeters there's plenty of dem up here!

I've been enjoying the pool at the campground this week ... finally! I've been doing free style and back stroke the length of the pool and can feel my arm, side, and leg muscles aching. It has been a long time since I've really swam instead of just bouncing or floating in a pool. The pool is pretty long and wide but only 3 ft on one end and 5ft on the other (but it says 4ft-I think it's a bit deeper). I can't say I've actually done "laps", but have have swum back and forth about five times each for free style and back stroke. How many times back and forth is considered doing laps? I think I've a lot of Conditioning to do til I can say I'm doing "laps".
