Sitting in the audience to see Freddie in Young Frankenstein. He is first on as the Herald...and we have wine!

How was the whole play? And the meet-up with Freddie? Did he know you were coming?

Just got home. 1 1/2 hour drive "there and back again."
The play was great and very funny. Freddie was great, too. I have pictures but trying to figure out how to post them here from my phone. I dont have an attachment option or other toolbar options when viewing the forum from my cell phone.
Freddie knew we were coming and we met him in the lobby after the play. Desi and I gave him a gift of 3 bobblehead hobbits, Frodo, Sam, and Gollum.

Desi's oldest son, Quenten, went with us. He has played trumpet in the pit band for 2 high school plays, The Princess & The Pea and Shrek. Quenten said he would have loved playing in the pit band for Young Frankenstein (the band was actually behind the stage rather than in a pit). The music would have been really fun to play, especially for trumpet.
I forgot how risque Young Frankenstein was. It's been awhile since I had seen the movie. It would not haven been suitable for high school!
N.Riverside Players did a very good job. Man can they sing! Great voices! It was neat to see how they did some of the scenes like the wagon ride to the castle (pretty funny) and the picture of Grandfather Victor Frankenstein and the dream to carry on the family tradition.
Freddie was one of the townsfolk, a lab technician, and a railroad conductor. It was great seeing you in action, Freddie. Now we know why you have been so busy with your theater group and missing you at LOTRO and our forum. This was actually a long play!
We met out in the lobby after the play. It was a full audience and took Desi, Quenten, and I awhile to get out there! On the way out, the Frankenstein Creature was there and I complimented him on his boots (they had about a 5 inch platform sole on them) and mentioned I wore shoes like that in my younger days in the 70's.
It was nice to finally meet you and talk to you, Freddie. I wish we could have chatted longer, but you had to get out of costume and we had a 1 1/2 hour drive back. Yuck to driving on I-290 and I-90. At least it wasn't night driving.
I hope you like the Hobbity bobbleheads. Great job on your performance. It was a very fun day for us.
I will post pictures from work after I load them to my pc. Then I will have a better toolbar than the cell phone and can attach pictures.

Just saw this thread. It was great meeting you! Glad you were able to make it and that you enjoyed the show. I loved your surprise present. Frodo, Sam, and Gollum are on my bookshelf (near some Dark Crystal figures in the same style. Gelflings and Hobbits are kind of similar, right?)
I still haven't had time to return to the game as I went from one show to another! My best friend is directing a drama, Blues for Mr. Charlie, and asked me to be an extra in a few scenes. My part is fairly easy as I'm just an angry villager again (albeit a racist southern villager in the 50s this time). I just wish the timing had been different and I had been able to take a break between shows.
Thankfully, I joined this show already in progress so we're almost done with the run already. We had three shows this past weekend and will have three more this weekend. After that, I seriously need a break! And hopefully will be able to visit Middle-earth with you guys again.

That would be great to see Freddie back in the game! I hope I am online up in the clubhouse at the same time you are playing. Let me know when and I will try to be there so I can get the darn internet to play!
