This is confusing for all! I think maybe the different browser types were effected diferently by the java script, but who knows!

I have a small question... I have an art album of my own (photobucket.com/albums/b348/Androga/Art/). I don't think I should add my pictures to the official TR album, as it would be too complicated to keep both albums updated then. Is there a place however where I can post my link so it can be seen next to the other member's art albums?

I love your art work!!! Let's see where Stormrider or Majah think your link can go.

Lol, I still should add my architectural art as well. And last week I did a quick Gimli. My brother and I were talking about art, and I began spontaneously with it lol. All these should still be scanned though.
It could be handy if there's a post with all the links of art together. Maybe as a second post in this thread; Tolkien's Ring Photo Albums. You could make a devision in the second post: one for member photo albums (member gallery + special events), and one for member art albums. When someone has a new album to add, he can post the url there as well, and a mod can update the list. This just being a suggestion. It's a 1 post thread now anyway.

Hi Orgulas!
I loved your album and sketches. You are getting quite good! I can tell you are a fan of dragons! People are more difficult to do but the more you practice, the better you will get. My people still have a cartoonish look to them and I haven't been able to do any that look realistic!
I have set up a sticky thread titled Member Art Links on this Art Forum. It includes the link to our own TR Photobucket Member Album. If any members have albums of their own at other websites, they are more than welcome to post their links on this thread. We would love to see everyone's works!

Thanks Storm! Yes, I'm quite a fan of dragons lol. I still hope to make one fully drawn, with scales and everything. People need lots of practice indeed lol.
I'm going to post my album in there right away.

Noted this thread and the first set of instructions about how to upload artwork to the Vanye album. I did so just now. If my image does not belong in there, please let me know! The story behind my image: When I was in college ('71 - '75), I was reading the Ballantine Books LotR paperbacks with the famous triptych illustrations. When Professor Tolkien passed away in Sept '73, someone had the idea to paint that illustration on the wall of my suite (an unremarkable, white cinder-block wall.) A couple of art majors outlined the illustration, we all kicked in $5, and bought a bunch of "seconds" from a local paint store. The project quickly became a campus event. People would stop by to watch and/or to paint. When it was about done, we had a MAJOR party. I got to paint in the last piece: the small frog sitting in the tree on the left (from the cover of the FOTR). I also wrote an inscription in Tengwar along the molding near the ceiling. Hope you enjoy this! Parmastahir

That is awsome!!! I believe the book cover you got the art from is the set of books my mom had when I was little. It is a very rememberable piece of art!

I remember the covers from that issue of LOTR! That was my very first set which I read so many times over the years that it literally fell apart. I wish I had kept them in better condition.
It is good seeing the design on your wall again. Those were such colorful and interesting covers.

Hi Stormrider -
I still have that set (about the 17th printing from 1968). They are dog-eared and worn. I have splotches of paint on them from when we painted that wall. I have great big strips of clear packaging tape holding the covers to the spines. Yet, I would sooner give up my 50th Anniversary volume than them. They are like old friends that get better with age. If you want a set of them, just go on ebay. I found a set of them, in the original cardboard slipcase, and paid $12 (including shipping) for them. They are so perfect that the spines are not even creased.
Best regards from the Green Hill Country,
Parmastahir

Well, gee wilikers! I won my box set! And it wasn't too terribly expensive either. My new set is from 1972 although my original set was earlier than that...perhaps between 1968 and 1970.
Now I should try to get that Lion cover Hobbit edition!

What have I started? My poor wife showed me how to use ebay to find a 1973 Tolkien calendar and now I'm up to 180+! Please don't hold me responsible if you the collecting bug keeps you looking for more editions!

Never fear....that's the only other edition of Lord of the Rings that I want or need! I have enough books on the subject already including all the HOME series and a few others by other authors about Tolkien or his works.
I just never thought to look at eBay, thanks for mentioning it!

Let's put it this way. You need not fear me not being able to find an item on ebay! Am very happy that it worked out for you. I was thrilled when my boxed set arrived and they were even better than the seller represented.
