Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday, dear Parmi, Happy Birthday to me!
Had a great day. Going to my grandson's 2nd birthday party tomorrow (having been born on May 4.)
I don't know (although I'm now embarrassed to admit it) what medium Jef uses. I would say acrylics (as the colors of his palette are so vibrant.) I'll have to ask him (as I received a Happy Birthday greeting from him.) He's the best for a lot of reasons.

Didn't see the birthday announcement, so this is a bit late, but "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANYWAY!"
Glad you had a great day. Parmastahir!

I looked for the July Calendar and it was not posted yet so I enjoyed the June Calendar of the month from Heren Istarion 2011 which I had not taken a look at yet.
The Solmath picture was very strange with a troubled hobbit (Frodo?) and the Eye inside The Ring.
I like Wedmath. The watercolor of Frodo riding from the black riders at the Ford is done very nicely.
Winterfilth was also done very well with Gollum, Frodo, and Sam hiding in thistles.

Hello to all - Well summer is over and I'm back in a calendar mood as the 2012 calendars are coming out. So I updated the Calendar of the Month feature at: www.tolkiencalendars.comThis month's featured calendar is one of a set of rare ones (not many created and extraordinarily hard to find.) Hope everyone's fall is going well! Away from The Green Hill Country, Parmastahir

Hullo, Parmastahir!
Always great fun, a new calendar! And this one even has a new and different take on Laketown, appropriate as we are discussing that section of The Hobbit just now. Thanks!

Oooo! Some new artists here, new for me anyway. A colourful version of the Balrog that seems to play up Tolkien's description of the creature having a "flaming mane." And there a very nice Smaug!
Thanks, Parm!

The Balrog looks like a flaming visible Predator!
I like the picture of the Black Riders getting drenched in the Bruinen and the close up of Gandalf.
Smaug is cool, but he was not glowing like we have been discussing on the Bilbo's Great Adventure thread!

Hello to All - Updated the Calendar of the Month feature for January at: www.tolkiencalendars.comNot to spoil the surpise, but thought it appropriate to feature a calendar with illustrations done by JRRT himself as his birthday occurs in January. Am back after an unexpected hiatus. Had BIG problems with my host/server and was worried for weeks that it had disappeared. But a colleague recovered it, switched hosts, and backed it all up for me. (Isn't it always whom you know rather than what?) For which, I could not be more grateful. It was a wonderful Christmas present! Happy New Year to all! Away from The Green Hill Country, Parmastahir

I couldn't get 3 of the pages to come up: March , July & inside back cover did not work for whatever reason! I like Tolkien's art work & have the book w/all of his art in it. It is called JRR Tolkien: Artist and Illustrator. I recently got a jigsaw puzzle of The Hildebrand Bros. painting of Smaug defending his hoard & I am going to glue it together soon as I complete & hang it on my wall. Have just finished watching a video about the location shooting for The Hobbit it is on Peter Jackson's Facebook page. 8^)

Hullo Vanye -
I fixed the missing links.
I know of the book you noted. But I do not (sadly) have a copy. Having collected over 350 calendars (over 400 with the many duplicates I have), I have to draw the line somewhere!
Hope all is well with you. Thanks for posting.
