How often have you been wandering through Middle-earth? What is the character you use in role play games? Post your ME-history for everyone to read. And maybe we can find inspiration to create an RP for all of us TR members! I'm going to post mine soon!

This sounds interesting. What types of occupations are you looking for?
Those that are strictly Role Play Game geared such as: thief, fighter, mage, Ranger, Druid, Paladin, Cleric, Priest, Scribe, etc.
or are you looking for things of a Middle-earth bent such as: Rohirrim horse trainer, Gondorian Guard, Istari, Bree Inn Keeper, Arnor Ranger, Orc Sargent, Dark Lord, Hobbit Mathom Librarian, etc.
or should we have a normal Middle-earth occupation with a RPG "secret" occupation such as Rohirrim Stable Boy/Thief, Gondorian Guard/Paladin, Inn Keeper/Fighter, Hobbit/Thief, Istari/Scribe

Storm: I don't mean those RPG professions, just what you would be when you'd live in Middle-earth, at a moment of peace. It can be anything; farmer, guard, mercenary, librarian, inn keeper, ranger, hunter, merchant in something, miner... The list could go on and on. No rocket scientists though - it should work in Middle-earth. The middle earth occupations you gave look right too. I don't know how an RPG term like "priests" could fit in ME, while others of those could work well too. I like that "secret" occupation idea though. Well, everyone will have an adventurous side in them too, most likely.
Here's mine, as first example.
1. Name: Androga Erindalant 2. Race: Sindarin Elf 3. Age: 6658 (in the year 1 of the Fourth Age) 4. Home: Forlond in Lindon, or on my boat: Nenrandir (water wanderer) 5. Height: 5' 9" 6. Appearence: Long dark hair (until shoulders), blue eyes, quite long and skinny as Elves are 7. Personality: Calm, intelligent, helpful, trustworthy 8. Occupation: Sailer and Shipbuilder 9. The weapons you use: A sword called Helegvagol; a long sword forged in Gondolin with a silvery blade with mithril runes in it. I also carry also a bow and some hidden daggers with me. 10. Other mentionable facts: I have a grey horse with black manes and black tail that listens to the name Maenolir.
11. Your history: I am born in Doriath, the realm of King Thingol Greycloak in Beleriand, in the year 387 of the First Age of the Sun. I am the son of Erestor Sîrfalas, a Sea-elf from the realm of Círdan, Lord of the Falathrim (ship-makers), and Elryndra Táralóm , who always had lived in Doriath. I grew up in Doriath and was instructed in the lore and history of the Sindar Elves and the Teleri, of which many had gone to Valinor. I began early with the training to wield a sword, but only after the War of the Sudden Flame, in 458 I was instructed to use the bow. The realm was deeply in need of archers to stop the orc assaults from Tol-in-Gaurhoth, as the island of Minas Tirith was called after it was conquered by the dark forces. But I would not finish my training in the protected realm of Thingol. As my father travelled back to Eglarest, one of the great havens of the Falathrim, I accompanied him. In the years that followed, I learned to sail and became a ship builder myself. I didn’t travel much on sea in those times, as a part of my heart still remained in Doriath where my mother and sister still lived. I often visited nanneth, who kept me informed on the tragedy of Luthien and Beren, who I only met briefly in the hall of Thingol. She told me everything of their Quest of the Silmaril and how Beren presented the precious jewel to Aran Thingol. I also visited Nargothrond often, the city of Finrod Felagund. I became a friend of the Noldor, and was informed about everything that happened in the northern kingdoms and about the movements of Morgoth.
In the year 474 of the first Age of the Sun, when Nirnaeth Arnoediad (the 5th great battle) still raged and Morgoth’s evil armies destroyed great parts of Beleriand, I helped to defend the havens of Hîr Círdan. But Morgoth’s forces were too strong and destroyed anything that crossed their paths. I remained fighting at Círdan’s side until the very last moments before we had to flee to the Island of Balar. But I saw my best friend Amras Culnámo dying in front of my eyes. On the Island I heard also my father was slain by the army of Morgoth. Once we had regrouped on the Island of Balar, I became one of the captains that assaulted the enemy coast lines. But I behaved foolish and reckless. The loss of both my father and Amras caused such a grief I wanted to follow them soon to the Halls of Mandos. I attacked the most horrible places and cared only little for the lives of my crew and my own. But by luck of doom, I did not perish. I met Ëarendil and he made me believe again in the survival of Elves and Men. Ëarendil had travelled from Doriath, telling the kingdom of Thingol and Melian finally had fallen. When I met him and his family, I marvelled at the beauty of a Silmaril, which I saw in the hands of Elwing, daughter of Dior and wife of Ëarendil. I regained hope when I saw the precious jewel; I started to believe again that Morgoth could be defeated. Ëarendil told about his plans to sail to the West and seek aid from the Valar themselves, and I helped Círdan to build Vingiloth, the marvellous ship Ëarendil used to find his way to Valinor. As a token of gratitude he gave me Helegvagol, a sword forged in Gondolin, the realm where his own mother Idril was born.
After the Valar had defeated Morgoth and destroyed Angband, the First Age ended and all Elves were given the choice to go to Valinor, but I decided to remain at the side of Círdan. Since Beleriand had sunk beneath the seas, Círdan sailed East to what was left of the Ered Luin (Blue Mountains) and to the bay of Lune, and there he founded the haven of Mithlond (the Grey Havens) and allied with Gil-Galad, the last High King of the Noldor, who settled in Lindon. For years I remained in Mithlond, until I longed for the ocean and started to travel around Middle Earth’s coasts. For two centuries I remained on the sea, while meeting new cultures and peoples in the far South and East, until I returned to Lindon in 856 of the 2nd Age. The next centuries I only made small journeys on sea and land, I often visited the Elven Smithies of Eregion from where I got my current mithril armour and helm. I also often sailed to the havens of the Númenor in Middle Earth, once they started founding them from 1200. When Sauron invaded Eriador however I joined the armies to drive him back. Peace lasted for a long while in the West, and I started to travel around the coasts until far in the south. After Sauron was captured and taken to Númenor, and while Sauron was poisoning the mind of its King, I started to avoid the Númenorean havens and stayed north again. I travelled to Imladris, the refuge of Elrond, where I stayed for more than two centuries. I heard about the Downfall and the foundation of Arnor and Gondor by Elendil and his sons. When Sauron tried to destroy Gondor and Elendil and Gil-galad had allied, I joined their armies to fight once again against the Dark Lord. I stayed close to Elrond during the siege of Barad-dûr, where I witnessed the fall of both Elendil and Gil-galad and how Isildur defeated Sauron and took the One Ring.
Since Gil-galad had passed, Lindon fell under the rulership of Círdan, and the Lord of the Falathrim made me Lord of Forlond, and gave me a magical ring (a minor one that gave me some powers over cold and warmth). Since that time my home has ever been in Forlond, but I often travelled to Imladris. Around 1000 of the Third Age I witnessed the arrival of the Istari in Mithlond, and learned to know both Curunír (Saruman) and especially Mithrandir (Gandalf) quite well. As all the other Ithryn (wizards) travelled to the East, Mithrandir stayed in the West and helped where he could in fighting the dark powers. In that time I also joined in the wars between Arnost and Angmar, the realm of the Witch-king. In 1975, after the northern kingdom of Arthedain was destroyed by the Lord of the Nazgûl, I lead an army to Fornost together with Círdan and Ëarnur of Gondor. There we defeated the Witch-king of Angmar, who was the main force behind the destruction of the northern kingdom. The head of the Nazgûl fled to the Ettenmoors and disappeared. After this war I started to help the Elves who wanted to leave Middle Earth, and often travelled to Imladris, Lórien and Thranduil’s realm in Mirkwood to speak with them who desired to leave, though I myself would remain in Middle Earth for many more years.
I was in Lórien when the Fellowship of the Ring passed there, and helped defending Galadriel’s realm in the Three Assaults from Dol Guldur. After that, I joined the forces Celeborn and Galadriel led to the tower of black magic. We destroyed it and continued to free the forests of Mirkwood from the evil dwelling in it. In the midst of the Forest we met Thranduil, king of Mirkwood. I was there when Celeborn and Thranduil agreed to rename the forest to Eryn Lasgalen and to divide it between them. After this I travelled back to Imladris, where I remained until the departure of Elrond. I started travelling around again, until I sailed to the West together with Hîr Círdan, as one of the last Elves who left Middle Earth.
