If you watched the RotK theatrical DVD extras you might have seen the part where Billy is talking about how he and Dom asked the women costume designers whose armor was best...Well Billy said it was agreed that his was and that he looked sexiest. Now I want to know what Tolkien's Ring members think! Here are some pics to help you decide:

I really had to think about this one.
Pippin's armor looks more elegant and the chainmail looks more protective than Merry's leather armor. I don't particularly care for the helmets of the Gondorian's. They look like there is a lot of air in them above the head and I don't like the point--although the etching on them is pretty nice.
I like the look of Merry's leather armor and I loved the way he smiled when he had the helmet on in the movie. I love his gauntlets, too. I like the more rugged look of the Rohirrim over the Gondorian's.
I noticed the way some of the men from Gondor ran in the movie while they were in their armor and it looked like they had some trouble moving! I guess I really like the mobility of the leathers.
So my vote was for Merry in his leather Rohirrim armor.

I am countering your vote by voting for Pippin. I just like Pippin and my son said he liked Pippin's better!

I really think the pictures are the problem, and that if we were to be able to get our hands on better ones, the choice would be easier.
My vote goes to Merry. The light leather and earth tones of the Horse Lords armor seem more manly to me, and much more comfortable. The Gondorian armor seems the type you deck out in when summoned to ceremonies of state.

I chose Pippin's... I like black, and the silver tree looks so beautiful... Black and silver go together really well... It may not be as comfortable, but the poll was about which one looked best, wasn't it? So there. ;D

;D Alaere, are you sure that you didn't just vote for Pippin because the White Tree of Gondor reminds you of someone else? Someone with a rough beard perhaps?
Your dear friend, Aeleorn (hehe)

I like Merry's armor because it looks like it is lighter weight-wise than Pippin's. The chainmail I tried on restricted some of my movement, and I think the leather would be easier to move about in. They are both designed beautifully....but maybe I lust like my men in leather and not steel. ;D

Woohoo I'm a tie breaker! rofl Nice try Alaere, but no... the poll is Who has the best armor, not who looks the best. If it were looks, I'd have to choose Pippin, because that is a damn fine looking uniform. But battle dress is about battle, and battle is a bout winning. I agree with those who said the Rohan armor would be more battle efficient. My choice... Merry.

"That tie was broken!"
"It has been remade!"
Heh heh. I just turned this into a tie again. I personally like Pippin's armor better. The dark fabric, chain mail, and White Tree of Gondor symbol just look really swank to me.
Illadria claims this poll is about which armor is best, not which one looks best. But I'm not so sure about that. Desi's original post mentions the women choosing which armor they preferred and who looked sexiest. I can't speak for the sexiness but I know I like Pippin's uniform better.

Oops, broken the tie again!
I really like the black and silver of the Gondorian armor. Just like I prefer those plate armours of the Gondorian above those of the Rohirrim. And those seem strong enough too lol.
