Zauber, you deserve a very well earned pat on the back for the wonderful syllabus and discussion you facilitated on this board! Your dedication to make this a great study inspired Beowulf scholars to participate along with the rest of us. Your work here is amazing!
Even though I haven't started reading Beowulf yet, I know that I'll be coming to this board frequently to gain insights and answers to the questions I'm sure to have.
Thank you very much! --DA

Thanks DaleAnne -- it was really fun to lead the study, and it certainly expanded my view of the world. I am now doing a lot of reading in history, especially Anglo-Saxon history.
I just had a birthday, and received a book all about the site at Sutton Hoo. I am thrilled! I'll be posting things as I discover more!

Happy late birthday, Zauber, and yes, Thank you for your hard work. I am sure from a teacher's perspective my participation was disappointing, but I am still plugging along, intermittently, when not distracted by other interests and obligations. Your study was outstanding!
Regards,
Sparrow

My belated thanks for a GREAT job, Zauber!
I'm still reading the messages here and mining them for information that deepens my understanding of "Beowulf."

I had helped Zauber get her study syllabus and webpage set up and even started posting on a couple of threads back when this study began, but ended up not having the time to keep with it. Now that the movie is coming out this Fall/Winter, I wanted to get back to reading the translations by Slade and these forums.
This really is a very nice study! I am so proud of how well Zauber organized and watched over everyone who participated. Thank you, Zauber, this is an awesome study.
