Suilaid!
Since finally I've got a permanent internet connection at home, I can return to - how shall I put it - one of my most homely homes on the internet ;D
How have you been? I'd really like to catch up with you all...
Navaer,
Nimloth Pearlbloom

Pearlbloom:
Good to see you again and it is good to hear you have your own internet connection now. Woo Hoo!
I've been pretty busy this year with our equestrian drill team. We are getting ready to compete down in Texas for a big National competition. Desi and I have been working on this all year and are looking forward to it. We have a competition drill and a pirate drill and will be competing with both drills in different divisions--twice with the competition drill (country and western theme) and once with the pirate drill (Pirates of the Carribean theme).
We have been discussing a few topics here at TR as well in Androga's Silmarillion study, people of middle earth, and places of middle earth forums, and a few others(?)
Welcome back! Hope to see you in the discussions.

Pearlbloom: I copied & read your story Darkleaf the other day. After reading your recent posting i then went to your profile & found your charming story. Did you ever write any more of it ? It was different from much of the fan fiction that i've found on various other sites. Thought i'd share my appreciation w/you & welcome you back to TR. Vanye

It's been a long time for me, too - three years, which marks the time when I started my own business. (I wondered why I hadn't found time to return to TR!) My daughter gave me The Children of Hurin for my birthday and I have been reading it. Is anybody else? Regards, Sparrow

Hi Sparrow!
It is good to see you! I know Vanye has a copy of the Children of Hurin and has been reading it. I have been curious about it and was thinking about picking up a copy.

Hulloh, Sparrow!
It's been three years?! Wow. We still use the excellent studies on The Hobbit that you and Desi Baggins have provided, so if I never thanked you formally for your splendid efforts there, I'll take advantage of this opportunity to do so now: THANK YOU, Sparrow!
Started your own business... good for you! But, as you've noticed, the pleasures of being your own boss are usually balanced by the extra amount of attention such ventures seem to demand. Best wishes for your continued success there!

It is a much easier read than the Silmarilion, and I am enjoying it. Although it is sad. Maybe we can have some discussion soon.

Nice to meet you Andorinha. I'm glad you are enjoying the Hobbit study. I enjoyed working on it. Currently I am reevaluating many things. I am trying to restore balance in my life. I do not want work to play a dominant role, but I do have to eat.

Sparrow: I've added a new thread to the Unfinished Tales forum for The Children of Hurin discussion. I believe it will compliment and add more insight into what was originally published in Unfinished Tales. Please feel free to post over there--We would all love to discuss what you are reading!
Vanye: I know you've been reading The Children of Hurin as well! You were the first to post that you had it! Please join in on the new thread I started. With two of you reading the book, we should get some good discussion going!
And the rest of us, I am sure, will have something to say, too!

Suilaid Nimloth! I already knew of the permanent connection lol, and I'm so glad you have it. It's great chatting with you again!
Sparrow! It's great to see you too. So how's your ship, captain? The Children of Hurin! I haven't bought the book yet, but my sister has already. I should read it once I can find the time.
I'm hopping in once to let y'all know I'm still alive. I should "digitalize" urgently the next summary piece. It's already written on paper. Busy as ever, it seems. And, some exciting news to tell as well (I can't believe I didn't brag here yet about it ). At the very end of September, I've planned a little trip to New York! Will be there on my birthday. Might be a pretty special way to celebrate it, lol. So I'm finally going to cross that big blue! ;D

Androga:
I wish Desi and I lived near New York! We would love to see you. Are you coming with any friends or relatives? Why did you pick New York as your destination? What do you plan to do in New York? I know there is a lot to do there although I have never been there myself--broadway shows, shopping, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, dining, more shows, more shopping! and I am sure there is much more to do than that!

Wow that will be so very fun and amzing for you! I have not been to New York, I heard it is expensive (not sure if it is expensive in comparison to Belgium though).
What you need to do is fly to New York stay there and check it out for a couple days...then fly to Chicago and check it out and then come out by my mom and I and ride some horses and visit! LOL!!!
Take lots of pictures!

I'm going with one of my best friends. A lad I met in college, and a brother in arms for our adventures there. We were talking about going on a citytrip, and we were putting our minds together for a nice destination. We had been considering a few European countries... Madrid or Sevilla, Rome, Budapest... and started thinking beyond. As soon as New York came along, we had pretty much decided already lol. And like I told you folk in chat - it would take a while before I cross that big blue ocean, but now I'm actually doing it!
The trip will be my most expensive so far lol, but hey. Should let the money roll once in a while, right? NY is indeed an expensive city, and yes, compared to Brussels, it still is! Coming weekend we're going to put our heads together what we'll visit. Statue of Liberty likely is one of the lucky sites. Also mentioned is: Broadway, Ground Zero, Central Park, Time Square, Staten Island, one of the cathedrals, Empire State Building, and quite some more. Dining and partying in different quarters. It will be hard to choose... Hotel is close to Manhatten, so we're lucky there. Yay! I won't make it to Chicago this year unfortunately, but never say never lol.
I'm definitely going to take a load of pictures. I mean, I need proof, right? ;D
