I was only joking about Chicago, but definatly if you ever do let us know!
It should be tons of fun to go to New York and all kinds of things to do and see there, the time will go by so fast!
Right now we are having a good old time in AZ....I'll have to post some pictures of the Grand Canyon! My oldest son is asking to go see Niagra Falls...I think we will go see the Canadian side and not the New York side, but that won't be for a couple more years...have to save the money!

Androga: Will you be in New York on Sept. 17th? Sir Ian McKellen will be there and tickets are only $25.00. Oh wait! It is sold out already! But Tickets may be available at the door the night of the event. nytimes.whsites.net/talk/index.php

Androga:
How was your trip to The Big Apple? What sights did you see? What activities did you do? What did you think of the town?

Yessss... anssswering as well thisss needsss it does, precioussss! (alright... that was the role I played once in an RP-board. I was the creature Yollum... a bizarre mix between Yoda and Gollum. I wish I still had that pic!)
In short; it was AWESOME!
In a bit longer;... My friend and I had a great time really, and thanks to that NY City Pass we could see quite a lot. Our hotel was on 94th street and Broadway, very close to Central Park (and to a subway), so we had a nice location in the Upper West Side. Even on the first day (we arrived at 3 PM local time after my longest afternoon ever) we could wander on that famous broad way. We had our "diner" at the Starbucks close to Columbus Circle. That diner only consisted of a frappuchino lol - a tasty one with chocolate. I wish they had Starbuckes in my little corner of the World! After that we walked all the way to Times Square (it was already dark by then) and had a (Belgian!) Stella in the Hard Rock Café. For those who want to have an idea of the distance that we walked... The Hard Rock Café was at 42nd to Broadway... And we still walked on until we got tired and took the Subway back.
On the second day we first took a peak at the Financial District (all the way south in Manhattan). We walked along the dock (and inspected that heliport - we had won tickets for a flight when we booked). We took a rest in Battery Park, where we had a nice but distant view on Lady Liberty. From there we wandered back towards the roaring city. We had a nice chatter with the bronze bull (anyone who has seen the movie Hitch? That bull...) and found our way to Ground Zero. When the afternoon came, we returned to our hotel - not to stay there, but to wander through Central Park and visit the Guggenheim Museum. That building has an intriguing archetecture, and of course some very nice paintings. And after the Guggenheim, we set foot in the Museum of Natural History. There, we succeeded in getting lost around closure time. It was a quest itself to find the exit amongst all those (emergency) exit signs! Yet finally, and with a bit of help, we managed! We had diner in a vegetarian indian restaurant, and spent the evening bar hunting.
The third day we tried to take that heli flight, but as it was too busy that day, we reserved our place for the next day instead. We did walk an end on the southern parts of Broadway, but as soon as we reached Union Square we wisely took the subway to the Museum of Modern Art. We took some time to look at the photographs, but spend most of our time at the paintings. Some names: Picasso, Brague, Renoir, Cezanne, Warhole, Mondrian - and I saw an extremely large triptych of Monet. Later on, we walked from the MoMA towards the Empire State Building. It may be the largest building in New York now, but it's extremely hard to see from street level, between all those other tall buildings lol. But we got there, saw that famous entry hall, and settled on the 86th floor (we didn't go for the extreme top) at the ultimate moment - sunset! Of course we took some pics there! ;D After dark we found our way into Chinatown to try out a meal on sticks.
Fourth day, which happened to be my birthday, started with that most wanted heli flight. It was great, terrific, just to say neat - much more fun than in an ordinary airplane. The view was excellent as well, as we followed the river next to those buildings, and had a closer look on Liberty Island. Right after our flight, we had decided to take a walk... over the Brooklyn Bridge. That brought us into Queens, though we didn't spend much time there. After our first wanderings we went back to Manhattan, and in the middle of Chinatown, as we walked over the Manhattan Bridge. In the afternoon we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to take a journey through history, from Greek time over the Dark Ages and back to the Eqyptians. I had my birthday dinner in an excellent restaurant in Little Italy - with very nice terrace. And of course sacking into a bar again for a few drinks. I had hoped for a Duvel (stong Belgian beer), but that wasn't in stock at the time lol.
On the fifth day we had our returning flight, but only in the evening. First we still could take that boat tour (the last thing on our city pass that we hadn't done yet). It brought us very close to Lady Liberty's island, though we didn't land. Instead, we decided to visit St Patrick's Cathedral (with long walk through 5th Av), and to pass the Rockefeller Center. This, in short, my adventures in New York. Amazing as it may sound, but I felt right home in that city. I wish I was back!

Sounds amazing! Starbucks is great and when you first said you had dinner at Starbucks I had to wonder is NY's different from the ones around here, but then you just said you had a frappuchino! It is funny that your meals were all ethnic (Indian, Chinese, Italian)...But you did hit a Hard Rock Cafe! I'm sure you have some tales from your bar hunting and I am sure NY had some good bars! So glad you had such a good time!

How long was your airplane flight over to New York? I hear it takes many hours to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
Desi, I guess there are many ethnic restaurants in NY for Androga to chose from. Androga, did you have a good ole American hot dog or hamburger?
Did you see any Broadway plays or is that something that needs to be booked ahead?

Lol, Desi. Of course it wasn't a real diner, but as we didn't ate anything else anymore. Such a frappuchino can be very filling. I wish we had Starbucks in Belgium as well. I'd spend there lots of time!
Of course we had a hamburger! During the noon, on one of the days. And I have ordered a bagel as well, on one of the days. As NY is very multicultural, so we got ourselves mixed into the different cultures as well. Besides, what can one eat else while being in Chinatown. (Okay, they had a McDonalds as well, with translation in Chinese.)
Storm, the Broadway plays were better booked ahead, and we hadn't done that. So, alas, we didn't see any of them. Perhaps next time. I'd definitely like to return once. ;D The flight took 8 hours. Fortunate me that I can spend a long while reading or writing (in this case, both) plus watching one of the movies. Yet the trip was worth the long flights!

8 hours isn't too bad.....we travel from IL to OH and it takes that long we always go straight through with one stop for lunch...though you didn't get the stop for lunch in your travels you are still able to gtt up and stretch a little if the no seatbelt sign is a go!
