Gandalf speaks about the counsels of the Enemy being confused due to the events at Isengard and Pippin's use of the Palantir. He believes that one point of concern was the fact that Wormtongue was aware of Aragorn's claim to the throne of Gondor. Gandalf obviously doesn't want this information getting to Sauron at this time. He goes as far to utter, "That is what I fear."
What are the reasons behind this? Why would it be detrimental to the forces of good if Sauron became aware that the Heir of Isildur was alive? Why is timing a key factor in revealing Aragorn's heritage?

Gandalf was obviously waiting to use the news of the heir of Isildur to his advantage, when it was appropriate. He was hoping against hope, that he would get news of Frodo and his plight, and then, when it was the right time, use Aragorn, to take the mind of the enemy away from where Frodo was. Sauron himself surely, has a pain in his ring finger, he is not likely to forget!

Is it prophetic? Sauron is after men... not the Elves... well, maybe the three Rings (and or Ring-bearers. But, the elves are diminishing... going back to Valinor... It is men he is after. A true King that comes to unify men... Sauron has been trying to divide them. He will go after Aragorn. However, Aragorn is safe if Sauron doesn't even know about him. That's why Gandalf doesn't want him revealed until everything is "set to go." I'm sure I'm missing something!
