Some background information on Meanwhile in Middle Earth, MiME.
Conception: One night several months ago following a roudy night at the Prancing Pony, after the all the other revellers had pooped out, Sparrow and I continued on, she with her wine and I with a Guiness. As happens nearly every night at the Pony, our conversation eventually led to Middle Earth. We came to the realization that we had both been seriously contemplating a journey into ME. We realized also that our trek would most likely lead us down the same path taken by our Tolkien's Ring fellows on their "misadventure" . A plot was hatched that night in secret in a very dark and quiet Prancing Pony. We had a name (Meanwhile in Middle Earth) and a mission (To be disclosed at a later date. Please read Meanwhile in Middle Earth "closed").
Inception: After a few more glasses, we eventually said Goodnight and went our seperate ways. I however could not sleep and when Sparrow awoke the next morning, she checked her inbox and found the first installment of MiME...we were ready to take action!
But the members of Tolkien's Ring do not sit idly by waiting for adventure to come to them. At times a post happens along which will arouse in all readers a desire to be a part of it. This is precisely what happened as Sparrow and I prepared for our odyssey. Out of a few harmless posts, bursts forth "The Great War". Sparrow and I could not possibly leave yet, we each had a role to play in The Great War. So, we delayed our pilgrimage, but did not abandon it.
There are tell-tale signs of the time in which this first installment was written. Karo was still amongst us (and will be again, I believe). Sparrow mentions Illadria's "mean punch". This is in reference to a night at the Pony when Sparrow puckered up for a kiss from Legolas, but was met with a punch on the lips from me. (Good times... )
Concession: MiME is a closed Role-play. However, it has been our intention from the beginning that this adventure should include other Tolkien's Ring members, as is alluded to with our side plot of searching for other Aftercomers. All are encouraged to join us. We ask only that all installments be sent to us rather than to the "closed" thread. All input will be considered. The only criteria is concordance with our storyline.

In case anyone thinks I let Illadria deck me and took it laying down, I will inform you that I flew up and dive-bombed her from far beyond her reach. This Sparrow is not to be trifled with, LOL.
Point of clarification for anyone who may be interested in joining our adventure: Illadria wrote, "We ask only that all installments be sent to us . . ." That is, only the first installment. We certainly don't want to stifle anyone's creativity; we simply want assurance of concordance with our storyline. Of course, we could resolve that by seeing that any violators meet a sudden and certain doom (note well that Illadria is armed and dangerous!

FYI...
Meanwhile in Middle Earth is nominated in the First Tolkien's Ring Role Play and Fiction Awards. If you've never read it, or if it's been awhile - now's the time to see what you've been missing.
