There have been no postings for nearly a week now, is everybody just busy or have you left the planet? I'm just looking for some new news &/or comments. Thot things would liven up w/autumn weather coming on & all. Not much going on here, so i don't have anything to post either! 8^)

Yes, I have left the planet. I am on a cultural tour of the forest moon of Endor at present. Those Ewoks throw a mean kegger party.
Actually, just haven't had much to post about lately. Still unemployed and somewhat disillusioned with life. However, I have some good news related to my writing as of recently. AC Comics wants to reprint my Rowena stories as a graphic novel-- and actually pay me this time! Woohoo!

Happy to know that somebody is still around. I was beginning to wonder what was going on! I'm not doing anything all that exciting but i check the website daily & it just seemed strange that nobody had posted for several days. Isn't the Anniversary of this group coming up soon? Is there going to be an Anniversary Chat? 8^)

Hi Vanye: I check the site daily, too. I've just been busy and overworked so don't like spending too much time on line these days. And I have not had much Tolkien related news either.
Plus I have been going to physical therapy since I got the external device off my fractured wrist. I go into work (or therapy) early or late depending on whether therapy is at 7am or 5pm. I am hourly so I have to make up my time at work since I used up all my vacation already.
My wrist is still a bit stiff but it has come a long way! I can type again, open doors, lift things that were too heavy and movement is coming along pretty well. They say I can try getting back up on a horse now so I plan to do that this weekend.
Freddie: I am sorry to hear you still are not working. I want to start looking for another job since mine is such a pain but I am very nervous about that.
Good to hear Rowena will become a graphic novel. I didn't know you weren't getting paid for the comic strip though. But glad you will be now.
Vanye: The Anniversary is January 31st and we should plan a chat--I need to look at the dates and days for 2010. In the meantime, I would like everyone to try the chat room that is attached to this forum. It is the far right button under our main page banner. I really would like us to use that chatroom. It is the Add On Chat but you need to have an updated version of Java on your pc.
It is a nice little chatroom and I have it decorated nicely when you enter.

January 31, 2010, is a Sunday. That might work out nicely. We could plan a couple of chats: one during the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening and hopefully we would run into times that members can stop in for a while.

Stormrider: Since i am now living alone i like to check in on this site to touch bases w/my fellow TR denizens so was feeling a bit lonesome when i wrote that post. I know that we all have busy lives & i too am taking Physical Therapy (for pain in my hip). I hope that we can arrange a time for our Anniversary Chat. Perhaps we may be a bit less busy by that time.
On 'Are You Being Served' the character played by Molly Sugden has a different colored wig in each episode. It is one of the running gags in the show!
Hope that you will be able to get back to riding again soon, Storm. I have never had a broken bone tho i was thrown, kicked & stomped on frequently when i rode a lot. Had to have my leg stitched up once when i was kicked by my best friends horse ( that was a nasty tempered beast on the best of days) & she (the horse) hated my horse-so when i rode up too close behind her she let fly missing my horse & hitting me.
Well i've got to do my exercises for the first time today. I have to admit that i'm feeling a lot better so not complaining just pushing myself to stay w/it! 8^)

I'm wandering around, most of the time. And although I don't visit often, I will never forget this wonderful community. Like, today was a "must visit some faraway online friends day" ;D Merry Christmas to all of you, my friends! I hope to pass by on the anniversary as well.

Well...our satellite modem gave out so I haven't had internet service for about a week now.
Then Desi and her family bought their own home and moved out on Dec. 22! They moved about 15 minutes to a 20 minutes away, so we can still visit often. I love their new home--it is awesome.

Hey, just thought I would let everyone know that I finally have a job. It's temp but hopefully will go permanent. I'm a Quality Control copy editor for DeVry University, editing their online course materials and lectures. It's pretty fun actually. Similar to my last job as a technical writer but more interesting material.

Sir Dúnadan, I am so happy you have a new job and that you are having fun with it. That is important--liking and enjoying what you do for a living. Way to go!

Hello, Everybody! ~~~ Sorry to have been incommunicado for so long ... I guess I have left the planet - I wound up on "Planet Flickr" and have been sort of stuck there for some time... I'm sorry I have left some of my "projects" unfinished here ( such as my "book report" on "The History Of The Phonograph" ) I have seemed to run out of steam in general lately - the older I get, the more easily worn out & tired I get... For almost a year, I struggled with my stone-age dial-up slow-as-molasses set-up to painstakingly type out my postings to the B&N Bookclub, but I was riding high on a wave of energetic enthusiasm & Tolkien - inspired fervor... Now that we finally have Broadband & Windows XP, my writings have dwindled to a trickle, - about the only writing I have been doing is when I make "comments" on others' photos on "Flickr"... Fredegar - congrats on the new job!...
