This year I dressed as Bilbo Baggins for Halloween (I also used this outfit at DragonCon a few months ago). A friend of mine dressed as Legolas. She made the costume herself and it looks amazing. We won Best Group Costume at a local bar's Halloween party. This was a slightly empty victory since there were no other group costumes. But hey, it won us some free shots! We've submitted our photos to the Hobbit Movie Facebook page, which is putting together a fan costume gallery, and to a costume contest run by Badali Jewelry. They're offering prizes like a sterling silver One Ring! Wish us luck!

Great Costumes! They are very well done! Too bad the sizes are off--Bilbo is TALLER than Legolas! Where do you submit the pictures? I have some of me on my horse dressed as Éowyn in Rider of Rohan battle gear. I would like to submit that!

Oh shoot! I didn't get back to Tolkien's Ring until today! Well, maybe next year--if they do it again! I "liked" Badali Jewelry on Facebook so I can watch out for it next year.

Don't think I posted this yet. I updated my Bilbo costume for the midnight show of the movie. I added the jacket and got a toy version of Sting. I'm pretty happy with the result. Much more accurate looking than the one I wore on Halloween. I will wear this one again at the next DragonCon.

You are definately more Bilbo-like every day! Cool Sting sword.
