There's a theater company in the UK that's doing a revival of the Lord of the Rings musical! They released this video of "Now and For Always" (the best song in the show in my opinion). www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW5LlaFiat8I've seen a few reviews of the show on YouTube and apparently, it's really good! They've trimmed the formerly 3-hour-long show to 2 acts. The early scenes in the Shire are staged outside in the gardens behind the theater and the rest of the show feels more intimate and emotional since it's in a smaller venue. The actors are getting high praise and there's some very cool puppetry and stage design. I so wish I could go! I'm glad to hear that this musical has gotten a second lease on life.

Freddie, That was beautiful. So harmonious. Their voices are beautiful. I loved the strings, harp, and accustic instruments.
Thanks for sharing. Maybe they will go on tour and come to the USA

Watching those reviews apparently helped my YouTube algorithm. A bootleg video of the original production of the LOTR musical showed up in my feed last night! This was super exciting since I love this show but have never seen it performed. It was cool to finally see how they adapted the story and how they staged certain things. The elves were hanging from the ceiling in Cirque du Soleil style acrobatics, the ents were on stilts, and some characters wore lifts to make them taller than the hobbits. The Rohan plotline was cut for time so elements of Theoden were incorporated into Denethor's character (he's apparently under Saruman's spell). Rather than Rohan or Gondor, the characters refer to the ambiguous "Lands of Men." Aragorn and Arwen's romance is featured heavily and they even get a duet in a dream sequence (or maybe a telepathic conversation) when they're separated by hundreds of miles. It was also cool to see elements of the book that didn't make it into the movies like Bilbo volunteering to destroy the Ring at the Council of Elrond. Unfortunately, while the video is labeled "Full show," it cuts off right before they get to Shelob. Dang it! Still, I got to see a good chunk of the show! I will have to watch it when I get a chance. Thanks for the link. Also when I'm on my laptop and not my cellphone. Lol

No chance of the theater group touring to the USA? Thank you for posting these links. Makes me want to read it all again or watch the movies.
