Can you believe another year has gone by! That's right Tolkien's Ring is celebrating it's 4th year. In the past we have usually had some big time celebrating with chat marathons, face painting, pony people, games, role-playing chats and prizes...This year we want to keep it easy and simple, but we are not going to leave out the fun. For this year we are going to have one chat Date: Sunday January 29 Time: 8pm to 11pm Eastern, 7pm to 10pm Central, 6pm to 9pm Pacific (I'm thinking that is 2am to 5am in Belgium???) Place: Prancing Pony Chat room (MSN) groups.msn.com/tolkiensring/theprancingponychatroom.msnwMake sure you have a TR MSN Friendship and that you reFriend your log in and password, also make sure you have the chatroom software loaded and ready to go....You might want to try to log into the chat room a few days before this chat. We plan to chat and have fun...Maybe live role-play or trivia!!!

yeah when you log in if MSN automatically does the computer you are on you have to sign out of MSN and then sign back in with your info.....and even if you have a new email you need to remember the old info to sign in and then you need to update your profile with the new info....

Vanye:
If you tried to open a new account tonight, it takes a while for the email to come to management to let us know you need to be accepted as a member. That was why we suggested creating new accounts earlier this week to allow time for that to happen.
I am sorry you missed the chat! This is another reason we were looking into a different chatroom set up.

I am not sure anyone saved it. I unfortunatly had some internet connection problems so I missed most of the chat. I was in the chatroom and it was myself, Storm and Fredegar and then next thing I know I didn't have any internet. When I got back on it was Storm, Fredegar, Majah, Electra Elessar and Redha. I guess most of the chat was just chatting, they did do some trivia and Fredegar was casting a curse that we all had to duck from.
I have thought that instead of doing just a yearly chat, a quarterly one might be nice. So keep your eyes open in March for another chat announcement!

I forgot to save it! Oh no! I never even thought about keeping it!
If it makes you feel any better, Desi missed most of the chat too because her husband was working on hooking up the kids' pc to theirs via a network and everything shut down on her while she was in chat! She was only there for a little while in the beginning and the end!

So it was 2 AM my time? I've been in the Prancing Pony from a little before midnight to somewhere until 1 AM. But then I got really too tired and headed for bed. The day before it had become late as well, so I needed the sleep lol. I still hope to make it a next time! (hint: start some earlier )

Yeah I saw you on my instant messenger and you went offline an hour before chat.... It wouldn't be too hard for Central and Eastern time folk to start an hour early, but for the Pacific coast it is hard (Majah) cuz if we start earlier she is at work, but we can start it earlier and then she can always come when she gets home!
Before I saw you online an hour early I thought maybe you would go to bed early and set your alarm clock to wake you up in the middle of the night!

Androga:
I'm so sorry we didn't arrange more chat times. Desi, Majah, and I have been so busy the last few months with other activities that we didn't have time to plan anything spectacular for the anniversary as we have in the past.
Desi and I have drill team practice on Sundays and we have to start getting our horses ready about 11:30am, get them loaded up, drive to practice which is half an hour away, warm up, then practice with the team. That takes us until 3:30pm or so. Then we get home and untack which is another hour and if my husband is watching Desi's kids, then we have to feed all the horses! That pretty much takes the whole day.
We are ripping our basement apart, too. We have to have drain tile put in since we get enough seepage during really rainy springs that it is needed. Whoever built our home did not install it.
I guess we could have planned some times on Saturday, but we just were not organized this year. We weren't sure how many people would attend since it has been very slow as far as posting to the boards. Perhaps having several chat times might have been better, since people have different time zones and can't always make just one.
Well...that's my story and I'm sticking with it! lol!
Sincerely, I am sorry we didn't plan for this anniversary with as much gusto as in the past!

But we are planning on quarterly chats instead of just a yearly one, so in March we will have another! We can set the time to start earlier so it isn't so late for you and hopefully you won;t gte tired and you can stay up late enough to chat with people that have to come a bit later since they have work!

Desi, if I set an alarm I risk to wake up my parents too. They have been complaining already about me staying up so late for the computer. Not on the anniversary day luckily, but they've been doing that a few times during the past few months. When I do something alike on a Monday morning, a few hours just before work...
Storm, don't worry about it lol. I just tried to see if anyone came a bit earlier, but it's not that I had doing nothing but waiting. I could keep myself busy with a few other windows that I always have open. Saturdays are even harder for me to be online. I'm not always staying home on those days. I can imagine horses ask a lot of care and a lot of love. I've always liked learning to ride, but so far it never came to it. Renovation too? Aye, I know those need a lot of work. Had a few of those too. Always messy. Good luck with it!
Quarterly chats sound great! Maybe we could have two sessions, like one from 4PM to 6PM Eastern and than the one from 8PM to 11PM Eastern. The first one would be 10PM to midnight my time, if I got the calculs right. Anyone who can make it to an earlier chat is always welcome then.
