It has now been a couple years since my husband and I started reading the LotR together at night. We would read out loud to each other. We never finished RotK, we stopped at the Steward and the King chapter. Then after watching the movie my husband never wanted to finish it. Finally the other day he went to pick up our son from school (there is bad parking so if you want to park where you won't get a ticket you have to get there 30 minute early) he didn't have any new horse magazines so I told him to take RotK and finsih it. He skipped to the Homeward Bound chapter and after a couple of days picking up our son from school he finished the book. He thought the best chapter was the Scouring of the Shire (which is how I feel too). He was also mad that they left it out of the movie as I am too. Any way I just wanted everyone to know that my husband finally finished the book!

Well, now he knows the true tale of how Saruman and Wormtongue died!
He also was able to see how Merry, Pippin, and Sam had grown and how they were looked up to and able to take the protection of The Shire into their hands and help the other Hobbits stand up for themselves.
And why Frodo really went to sail away to Valinor. The book explained it in so much more detail.
Good for Scott!
