Good New Years Resolutions! I think I could do those, too! I want to finish this picture AND read The Silmarillion again. We can join Vanye in the Sil! Oh! And yes....TR's 3rd Anniversary is coming up the end of January! What can we plan for that? Oh! And we need to decide on the January art topic so we can start working on that, too! Let's give Magpie an opportunity to work on hers, too!

Vanye: Yes, you do need a scanner to get your drawing or painting into your computer in order to post it on the site. Then you need to post it into the Tolkien's Ring Photobucket album and then post it into a thread in these forums. Read the thread in this Art Forum titled TR Photo Albums tolkiensring.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=art&action=display&thread=1085880924 This should explain it pretty well. Then if you have more questions, just ask.

Yes, you do need a scanner to get your drawing or painting into your computer in order to post it on the site. Depending on the picture, sometimes you can take a photograph of it with a digital camera, as well. This hasn't worked for me when the paper remains mostly white (like in a pencil drawing) because, unless it's really high quality white paper, it takes a tone on in itself and the contrast is off. But it might work for a smaller full color picture (like a watercolor, oil, etc) that you can get close to. It's worth a try if you have a camera but not a scanner.

Yes...i have taken some of mine as digital pictures...in fact in the last contest i did that with my Ent picture, because the original painting is much larger than my scanner.
sometimes i have good luck with the scanner and sometimes not but i think it depends (like Magpie says) on whether it is a sketch or a painting, etc.

Oh! It has been so long ago that I had taken a picture of any of my art I forgot about that! lol! It can be tricky as Magpie and Majah attest!

If you do not have a scanner or camera you can make your picture in paintshop and then it is already in your PC!!!
