I read Wheel of Time, too. Very long series and it was a while ago. Glad Sanderson finished it after Jorden died.
Game of Thrones is awesome. I wonder how close the HBO series will come to his written end.
Your other books sound interesting, too

I finished the last season of The Magicians on Netflix SyFy. 4 seasons. So many twists, turns, oddities, and quirkiness. Great acting and storylines. They are beautiful singers, too! Yes, even some parts were like a musical. At first I wasn't sure I'd like it--slow start, but I'm glad I stuck with it.

Glad to hear Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series was finally finished. Think I lost interest around Book Nine, honestly cannot remember the basic plot or even the salient characters now -- do remember I enjoyed the readings sufficiently to buy nine volumes, maybe I'll go back and try a re-read...

I just finished reading The Diary of Anne Frank, which I had never read before. It was very different than what I thought it was about.
I didn't realize The Annex was as large as it was. I didn't realize another family of 3 and another man also hid with Anne's family of 4. I always pictured her hiding in an attic, not in a house-like area attached to a business and warehouse where people worked the whole 2-1/2 years they hid.
I didn't realize most of the office people actually went upstairs and visited them when it was safe and brought them food, clothing, books, school books, and other things. They didn't starve, the young people studied like they were in school, read a lot, celebrated holidays and birthdays and gave gifts. They had pretty decent meals, they cleaned house, had several cats.
The young people studied so many things. All types of Math, Sciences, Histories, (Anne also liked mythology), Languages: Dutch, French, English, Latin (they were German, so they knew that one!) They even learned shorthand in Dutch, German, French! Anne was worried she would be far behind in school, when the war was over ... I don't think so!
They even were able to go downstairs and use sinks, water, toilets when no one was in the office/warehouse. They had routines and time slots figured out.
I was surprised that Anne didn't mention more of the traditional Jewish holidays and weekly religious practices. Unless the families weren't strict Jews.
The families got on each other's nerves at times, fought, criticized, laughed, and joked. I guess being together for 2-1/2 years, you could expect that.
Anne spoke of a lot of personal things, too. She didn't like her mother, she loved her father, she thought the other people there were stupid and aggravating. But she did get a bit close to the older boy from the other family and had sort of a romance.
I thought Anne's family hid in a small attic area and someone brought them food occasionally and helped clean clothes for them. I didn't realize they had more room and variety of things to keep them busy. Nor did I realize they hid for so long.
It is such a shame after 2-1/2 years someone gave them away and they were all sent to concentration camps and died (except Anne's dad) with the war so close to an end.
