i am sooooooo sorry.... i started the fun and games board off from the MSN site but i do not usually play myself because i am so bad at games and riddles...as you can see... this one is kinda a trick riddle so here's a hint. ...travel waaaaay down south and look for a more recent appearance. He's hairy, huggable, friendly and a king of his own empire. (And someone once called him my hubba hubba!)

Ooo, Ooo, Ooo! Luthie, do you have a riddle yet? If not, I will gladly pay* you next Tuesday for an opportunity to spill one here that I just wrote. I do riddles so infrequently that when I get one that sounds (to my ear!) half-good, I get all over-excited.
_______________ *Er, Luthie and Majah, what's the "going rate" penalty for cutting-in-line at a Riddles Competition? I suppose I gotta give Luthie a Birthday Present Ring? (Hmm, where's that old cigar band...)

Thank You, Majah! Presents, eh? Hmmm, gotta be a second cigar band round here...
This may be hard, this may be easy. Anyway I have a final "hint" verse (if needed) that should be an absolute "give-away," but for now, let's see if anyone can sleuth this out:
We also journey who only go along. But, just who am "I?" __________________________________
I was bundled from The Shire with a single friend I know, and though the winds were heavy we never felt a blow.
Under the Misty Mountains we could have held some helpful lights, and guided the footsteps of our company through the many starless nights.
But we rode on in silence cold, forgotten in those glooms, unneeded fellow travelers through Moria's deep toombs.
Still tucked away and hidden, the Elves of Lorien we never saw, but safely swathed in leather we escaped the Orkish claws.
Through many feasts we sat unfed, until one day we got our fills and sent the fountains of our joys to rise above the ringing hills.
****** (final verse to follow)

The Hobbits pipes?

Absolutely Right!
TT: 568 "'Half a moment!' said Pippin. Putting his hand inside the breast of his jacket he pulled out a little soft wallet on a string. 'I keep a treasure or two near my skin, as precious as Rings to me. Here's one: my old wooden pipe. And here's another: an unused one...'"
Short, sweet, and very neat! Well, Fangorn, that took up very little time! Nicely done, Sir; and without the benefit of the final verse!
Well, here it is anyway, the "funnest" part to compose!
I was bundled from The Shire with a single friend I know, and though the winds were many we never felt a blow.
******** In Isengard an uncrowned king kissed my lips hungrily, my friend's were met, warm and wet, by the lips of "just" a Gimli!
Well, Old Friend, Your Turn Now!

Thanks, old friend. I enjoyed the poetry even more than the sleuthing!
This may be hard, unless you are familiar with at least one of the terms. I decided to award a point value.
30 points for guessing the meaning of the riddle. 10 points for guessing the meaning of each part. Happy riddling!
My friend is freting, about the Egyptian plague, But I can keep you warm, on our date. Used in kissing, and found in a bottle, I will offer it to you dear friend when we meet.
