Yow-za, Fangorn! Your riddle will require some real sleuthing... Think I know one part, but I'll work some more on the whole thing before guessing!
Thank you, Majah, a very nice complement for me doggerels (er, it IS a complement, not another riddle? GRIN). OK, you get both cigar band rings!

OK -- trek up north has been completed, dashed around Cedar Mesa Utah out at my favorite canyon system, Grand Gulch (filled with Anasazi ruins!), sat beneath the fragrant boughs of the Utah Juniper, and cleared my head fer action:
Egyptian Plague... well, I am wondering if this refers to the Judaeo-Christian-Islamic tradition and the 5 plagues?
The Death of the Firstborn The Plague of Frogs The Plague of Locust The Plague of Hail The Plague of Boils
Now, I've had some "desperation" dates myself where "keeping warm" was a definite bonus, and kissing was a heated, ancillary device of time consumption, but this riddle is beyond my experience!
Well, line 3 could refer to the "mouth" or "lips" of a bottle, and to the primary apparatus of human osculation. And in line 4, if one is "dear" enough at being friends, I suppose a "kiss" by/ to the mouth could be offered... Then, extending this idea, a warm mouth (applied in an exciting fashion) could possibly induce a fair amount of heat on any date... And for line 1, I suppose a wailing, prophetic mouth could announce, in a fretful way, the anxieties surrounding the coming of a plague?
LOL! Well I'll hazard "MOUTH" for this one, Fangorn -- and prepare the teeth in mine for a snarling bite should this effort prove unsatisfactory!

Valiant effort, Andorinha, but alas, wrong! Since it appears I made this too difficult, I believe hints would be in order.
Animal, vegetable or mineral? Think vegetable! Also, one of your plagues was very close to one answer.

In frank desperation, I turned to the source of all things clever with words -- Popo. He looked at this riddle for a minute and said "Well, old boy, 'mouth' is OK as a first guess, but you are 'barking' up the wrong TREE!"
Well, considering the "fangorny" source of this puzzler, and the clew bout vegetation, even I could take a leaf from Popo's cryptography text and apply various woody-pithy terms to (hopefully) go with the grain this time:
Pine = fretting; Locust Tree = Egyptian plague (thereof); Fir ( = fur) will keep one warm; Date = date palm; Tulip tree (southern USA) is used fer kissin' -- two lips); a Cork is found between the lips of a bottle; and one slips a Palm (tree) to a friend...
So, how does this lumber stack up, Fangorn?

Popo is a joy to be sure.....
You are quite correct, and my little joke is quite unmasked. Of course the answer is: TREES
You get 30 points for that!
And you also answered a few others, so my next post will tally your score

Well, Fangorn, I still think "pine" is the better answer, but if you want "weeping" for fretting, I guess it'll hafta be "weeping cypress" -- down on her kness and crying the ground into a swamp...
No? No?!
Well, that leafs "weeping willow," harumph.
