I picked Tom's house. It just seemed so relaxing there and Tom and Goldberry where such great hosts. After Tom's house, I would choose anywhere the Shire.

Although the mountains of Rohan and Gondor are beautiful; the Valley of Rivendell a peaceful haven; and Lothlórien's silver mallorns breathtaking, I chose the Shire, too!
The Shire is just so green, hilly, quiet, quaint, and peaceful. The folk are happy and jolly and have (for the most part) been shielded from the evils of the world. The Shire seems to have a innocence that is appealing to me.

Although I was really tempted by Rivendell, I had to choose the Shire...great food, happy people, and presents every day!

Believe it or not, this has been the hardest poll for me to decide on thus far. There is not a single place in Middle-earth I could not find fault with. While I also love the Shire, the intolerance of Ted Sandyman and Lobelia's clan left me a bit cold. The nationalism and single mindedness of the human areas also made me think.
I settled on Rivendell, because even the detachment of the Elves from the problems of their neighbors is easier for me to tolerate, then the absence of knowledge and sense. I could see myself in the Great Hall of Fire, listening to tales of love and beauty to swell my soul and spirit.
Really though, I am a bit miffed you left out Fangorn Forest!

Fair Imladris, aka Rivendell, without heisation... So much tales, songs... The Rangers nearby, with breathtaking accounts of their adventures... It's at the same time a typically Elven place, but also a place where other Races find refuge when necessary. Life is never boring in Rivendell, I think.

There's not one place in Middle-earth I wouldn't like to go. I would even be curious to see Mordor (but not when Sauron dwelt there, of course). However, my vote goes to fair Lothlorien. It has such a mysterious atmosphere and I'm sure it would be the most beautiful forest ever. If only I could gaze up at those majestic mellyrn of the Golden Wood! I wouldn't mind at all sleeping the night on a talan in Caras Galadhon, high among the boughs of the trees! If I could vote for a second place I'd pick Rivendell, the most welcoming place for a weary traveller.

Lothlorien, It's got that magickal quality which has appealed to the Pagan in me since before I even knew I was a Pagan.

There are too many different places than can be put in a poll lol. I'm really fond of Mithlond (Grey Havens) lately, but have gone for Rivendell, another elven realm. It's very lovely and calm, with beautiful surroundings. I probably would be found a lot in both the library (or any room with a lot of books in there) and the surrounding valley.

Since Wood of the Greenleaves was not given as a choice, I opted for Lothlorien.

Wood of the Greenleaves = Mirkwood (just in case you didn't know. Which I'm sure you did. Since I am now eons and eons behind y'all in my studies )

Rivendell for me. I think I'd be in heaven just sort of hanging out there, reading ancient books of lore in the library, hearing tales and songs by the fire, mingling with the elves and other races, etc.

Well I chose The Shire (Bagend specifically) as it would feel so cozy at this time of year & there are so many places to keep books & I would love to curl up by one of those round windows & read!!!!!! My second choice would, of course, be Rivendell! Especially in the summer it would be so cool & peaceful w/the sounds of water everywhere! Naturally I would spend a lot of my time-- reading! You might have guessed eh? A third choice would have to be Rohan as I love horses & had a horse or pony most on my life untill just a few years back when my driving pony Squirt died at 34. Meduseld is not exactly cozy but would be a great place for a party most any time of year! Vanye
