If you have a question or problem and need help with this new forum, please check out the help area already provided by the Proboards owners. You can reach their tutorials for using Proboards by clicking on the HELP button at the top of this forum site or by clicking HERE. This is a very thorough help link and most of your questions should be answered by reading it. If you still have questions, then look over the topics found on this forum. It could be that it has already been anticipated or asked and the answer is here! If you still have not found your answer or solution to your problem, then please start a thread in this forum – be sure to use a subject line that captures your question or problem. We will get back to you with an answer as soon as we can. If we do not know the answer to your question ourselves, we will find out from the Proboards owners and get back to you, so please be patient. We will try to post a reply that we are researching an answer. This is so that you will know we have seen your post and that we are working on getting your answer.

???I have tried to register & it keeps telling me that an error has occurred & all I have put in is my own name & my own email adddress. I put them in right so how come I 'm being told that it is wrong. My frustration level is getting high! Bonnie/Vanye

Bonnie/Vanye:
Is that all it tells you? "an error has occured" It does not say what type of error or what was wrong?
I have a message in to the proboards support forum to see if they come up with any information on how to help you.
If you already have a proboards User ID, be sure not to put any spaces in when you sign in. That could create a glitch in registering here.

You need to enter your password first at the top of your profile and then you can edit things. Hope this helps.

Thanx Majah I'm back in the fold & angry no more! See my smile I do not know why I have so many of these problems.. could it be something that I don't know? Duh! Computers don't suffer fools gladly. Some days I'm the biggest fool around! I think the biggest problem is that I always think that I will REMEMBER things like passwords. This is a person w/'part-timers' talking here, so from now on I will write everything down then all I need do is REMEMBER where I wrote it! Vanye P.S.: Thanx again for your patience.

Vanye, I keep index cards in my computer desk drawer full of information about passwords. I have different cards for different types of websites: forums merchandise sites (where I order goods) email boxes (I have a few) banking/financial sites software registration (like for Adobe products or Microsoft products) general web sites (local newspaper, library... etc) For each, I note very carefully what it's asking me for because it differs on each site: Some have a sign in name.... some a user name... some file you by the email address you register under (and for people like me, that could be one of many). Then I note the password. I will use different passwords for different sites. For sites where I don't have to worry about security much (like here) I might use the same password as for other similar sites. But for sites which require more security (like financial and banking) I don't repeat the password and some people recommend that you change these sensitive passwords once a month. So, many times, I've had to dig around in my drawer for my sign in name and password for a site that I've suddenly become logged out of. Hope this helps. I think it gets easier the more you do it. The essential thing is, in the words of the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy... Don't Panic.

Post it notes keep falling off my computer. But there is one precariously hanging on with reminders about tomorrow's graphic project.

I have all of my logins and passwords on my pc in a word documents, too. However, I really like the "recipe box" idea with the index cards Magpie mentioned. I will have to get something like that together for me. Sort of like a rolo-dex of websites.

Vanye:
I checked the Proboards Support forum and found a thread for others who have members who can't login, too.
Here is a comment from one of the support moderators. Have you switched to AT&T?
