OK, got the Beowulf Study polished off except for the images especially in "The Warriors' Ethic" where, if some one can save the sword types B. Slade put up there, messages 24 and 32, it would be GREAT. My computer won't copy/ transfer pictures... sob.
Any suggestions on which study should be grabbed next?

LOL, "STICKIES???" Thanks Stormrider for stickin' the Beowulf stuff, whatever precisely is involved in that procedure!
I'll pick up The Silmarillion Study starting tomorrow.
You have a good night!

Andorinha:
Were there other threads on Beowulf that had pictures, too? If you can remember where they were, I will go back and get them.
I'm going to have to go retrieve the pictures (or find them on my pc if I still have them) for the ROTK study as well. At least the pictures that I had on my study topics--it seems Annie's are all red X'd so when she left, she must have deleted them from wherever it was we kept them to post in the study.
I'm wondering what to do about Frodo and Sam's Fun Quizzes since they are not functioning anymore. The quizzes are still there, but the mechanism when you select the answer doesn't pop up and the tally of percent correct at the bottom doesn't work. Those were so cool, too! I could post all the questions with A B C D and then have a separate answer thread with all the answers.

Hi Stormrider!
Yeah there were a few more individual pictures, I'll search them out -- THANKS.
RE the quizzes: hmmm, I do recall those, they were fun, might make good additions here, even without the percentage feature, just an answer sheet nearby would still be cool!

I think there are 5 more threads under Silmarillion that should be "stickied" in this order (top to bottom):
1. Sil Arc Start Reading 2. Sil Arc Reading Aids 3. Sil Arc Reading Schedule 4. Sil Arc Let the Discussion Begin 5. Sil Arc sign in here if you will be reading with us
Thanks Stormrider!
Still looking for images too...

Andorinha:
I stickied these threads, but I wasn't paying attention to the order so I will have to go back and fix that.
Right now it is late and I have been adding all the images that belonged to the ROTK Study that were still on the old forum for the odd numbered chapters since those were the ones I did. I haven't been able to find all the images AnnieLT used. She may have kept those on her own pc after all. Book 5 is complete except for Frodo and Sam's Fun Quizzes which I will do after I get all the threads finished for the whole study.
I still have a way to go on ROTK--all of Book 6--but it is going pretty well, considering how much of it there was!
I haven't even taken a peek at Algy's TTT Study to see how extensive that will be. At least there are NO pictures to retrieve! ;D

Thanks so much fer da "stickies!" One more problem area is the complex chart Megn1 set up for SilArc: Week One Reading- Ainulindale & Valequenta, message #3. I can't get the chart to transfaer, sob, when you have the time? Thanks!
WOW! Really impressed with the ROTK files -- you are stuck with one of the most complex (for transfer) units there! DEEPLY appreciate your work!!! I think Majah's unit is also gonna be a toughie. When I get done with Silmarillion, I may have a bit more "push" left in my right index finger, will try to help you and Majah where needed.
Have a well deserved sleep!!!

hmmmm....chart? Is it set up as a table? it may need to have the html coding to make it work as I did for the ROTK syllabus chart.

the tr's make a new row the td's make a new column You type the text between the two groups of td's with and without the slanted line. It gets tricky when there are several lines of text in each section of the table! I had to play aound with the ROTK syllabus chart until I got it. While inside the td's with your text, you type the first line and then space to the next line as if you are typing down a line. for example--here is the first line:

Stormrider's horses Storm Toi Mare Gelding

and this is how it will look: Stormrider's horses | Run with the Storm Tois Lil Master | Mare Gelding |
or you can add two spaces between the horse's names and gender to give it a more spaced look:

Stormrider's horses Run With the Storm
Tois Lil Master Mare
Gelding

To look like this: Stormrider's horses | Run With the Storm
Tois Lil Master | Mare
Gelding |
Well, I will go look at Megn's chart over at MSN to see how complicated it is after I get back from filling in for a missing person on the Dare Devil's stunt team--don't worry, I am NOT doing any stunts! There is still the TTT study to transfer over if you get done with the Sil study before I am finished with the ROTK study. Gosh you are moving so fast! I wonder ... what other stuff is on other boards at MSN that we really want to bring over here ? the clock is ticking.

Andorinah:
I don't think you need to have the words "The Sil ARCHIVE" in your subjects now that we are moving the threads over here. It will give you more room in the subject line for the full subject.
What do you think? It doesn't have to be changed right away while we are still transferring all the rest of the important meat of the old MSN site over here. It can wait until later.

Ah, good idea, Stormrider. Since all the threads are under the Silmarillion study topic heading it does seem unnecessary to have Sil-Arch on each leader. I'll leave it out from now on, and retro-remove the others later.
I'm saving certain lines to my computer for later reference, LOL, all sorts of things I'd like to add after the passage of 7 years. And it seems that dratted DA caused even more trouble than I thought, grrrr...
Still remarkably impressed with some of the topic lines!

Did my code examples above help you figure out how to do Megn's chart or will you need me to do the chart for you?
I will be at a baby shower this afternoon, but I plan to work on more of the transfers tonight. I am also off tomorrow--my company honors Martin Luther King day--so I can spend most of the day transferring!

OK, finished the Silmarillion, will do some editing, and see about chart work, but cannot do pictures... LOL I'll leave a list of things I am not able to do.

Whew! I need a break! I only have Chpters 12, 13, and 14 left to do in the ROTK study--but that is still about 34 threads! I've copied the quizzes into word and text documents to post later. Hopefully, I will be done with all the discussions later this evening. I want to get dinner started and do a little reading to relax a bit before I tackle this again.
Andorinha: Just list whatever you need help with and I will work on it tomorrow after I get ROTK finished and before I start TTT Study.
