I know that currently TR is still using the old MSN homepage. I am not sure if there are plans or ideas started for a different one.

Web sites are great, but they can also be expensive. At TE, Majah and I pay over $100 a year just for the upkeep. Factor in the extras: tag boards, FTP programs and tools, Domain name, and your talking over 300. The free sites are nice, but they are very limited in space and functionality. The best thing a member can do, besides offering their services which is always needed, is to support the site financially as well. Donations, buying and supporting site merchandise, donating prizes, or even offering to pay one of the bills, is a great way to ensure the continuation of your favorite sites.
Webmasters all work very hard using the resources they have. Stormrider and her managers are to be commended for the wonderful effort and devotion they have shown here at TR. Kudos to all, and I am sure if they can provide paid web space one day, they will give new meaning to the phrase: "raising the bar".

Elwyn:
As Desi said, we are still using the old MSN site as our homepage. We have kept it and linked all the forums as our Archives. We did not want to lose the Prancing Pony either! You will see all the link buttons at the top of the new forum front page. There are also links to the TR stores via these buttons and still at the old MSN site.
I do have a small website that I inherited when I signed up with my internet provider. However, its address does not say anything about Tolkien in it so I did not want to create a webpage for it because of that. You may notice that I have stored the Hobbit Study quizzes there and have linked to them.
Majah and I have thought about it a bit and are tossing around a few ideas. The main purpose of Tolkien's Ring does seem to be the message boards and the other parts have always just been "perks".
Thank you for the offer to help. We do appreciate that!
