Fredegar: That's why you keep coming back for the next episode ... and even the re-runs!
Desi: I did not like Walt's mother. I think she was not being fair to Michael or Walt with the way she took off on her career opportunity. I think she was only looking out for her best interests in everything she did.
She was not fair to Walt or her new husband either by asking him to adopt Walt. And she was deceitful to Michael by telling him that the new husband really wanted to adopt Walt.
I did not really like the new husband, but I have to give him credit for coming to Michael and telling him to take custody of Walt.
I wonder what strange things Walt can do. He was looking at the bird book and trying to get his parents' attention and they ignored him. Do you think having the bird fly into the window and die rickoshayed (sp?) onto his mother and that was part of how she died?

Wow, Ethan was shot! So now what bad things are they to face? Are there more people like Ethan? Was Ethan the French woman's son? So many questions they are killing us!!!
Did anyone watch the Jimmy Kimmel show last night (ABC 11:05 CST)? He did a behind the scenes of LOST. It was cute. He said LOST is his favorite show and he wanted to go to Hawaii so he went. He was asking the actors funny questions. He asked Jack why his beard never gets longer and why it is never shaven off and Jack said that must be one of the miracles of the island! Then he asked Dom why there was no theme song so they made one up together as Dom played the guitar. Then he asked Sawyer for bug spray and Sawyer asked what he had to trade for it, so Jimmy asked what he wanted and Sawyer said a kiss! It was funny.

Stormrider,
You were talking about Walt's strange abilities. Did you realize that an creature similar to a polar bear appeared soon after Michael burned Walt's comic book with a bear on the cover? It seems that animals Walt looks at in books can be conjured up. But he doesn't seem to be doing it consciously. There seems to be a correlation with his being emotionally upset or feeling rejected when he produces this result.
I don't know if this was related to his mother's death, but it's a spooky characteristic in any case.

Jerseyshore:
I did realize that Walt was looking at a bird book before the bird flew into the window and thought there was a connection there.
I did not make the link with the polar bear that attacked him and the one on the comic book! Thank you for pointing that out.
I thought when the bird smashed into the window that Walt was angry because his mom and step dad were not paying attention to him...not because his mom was ill. I thought that had been the first time she was bent over in pain. and showing any signs of illness.
So Walt was angry that his dad burned the comic book and the polar bear became real. But why didn't it attack his dad instead of him? I would have thought that since Walt was angry at his dad, that the bear would have attacked him instead.....Or is Walt really angry with himself?

There's a problem with that though, Stormrider. Wasn't the polar bear in an earlier episode BEFORE the father burned the comic book? Then again, Walt's been angry with his dad a number of times so that might do it. Or it might be another red herring. Oh, this show drives me crazy!

I remember the polar bear from earlier, too. I thought about that. Did Walt have that comic book back then? I'm not so sure he had it at that time.

I think Walt found the comic book in one of the pilot episodes. People have made this show their obsession and profession. To see to what extent, you can check out The Fuselage. It is the official forum of the show's creators and has "108993 Posts in 6623 Topics by 5209 Members". (I'm not posting this link hoping people will join... just giving you a glimpse of how much people talk about this show!) The spoilers, rumors, speculations, theories and clue collecting run rampant and some of it's actually pretty intelligent. People examine sound clips of 'whispers' and look at screen shots of backwards Big Dippers. They debate the virture of characters (or lack, thereof) and play endless (mindless) games with each other (the games section is huge). It's what Tolkien used to be on the web. Which could take me in a whole nother direction. I think some of the excitement and hype we saw with Tolkien was fueled by the same energy (and the same people) as we see with Lost. I think they are attracted more by the 'energy' of the phenomenon then the actual content of the material. I think most people liked the content of LOTR, but for a great number of them (and I won't even make a guess what that number is) the 'energy' was more of an attraction than the content. When the energy dissapated, their attraction and attention did also. (Now... I don't mean to hijack this thread with that comment. If anyone wants to respond to that last statement, I guess it'd be better to quote me in a new thread or in the one that was started by another member about the waning of Tolkien forums.

Lock's father and mother sure were a ratts! I had a feeling that Lock would be a donor. But that was very low of his father and mother to refuse to see him after it was over. How UNGRATEFUL!
However, the investigator (? or whoever that was) warned Lock that knowing who is father was would not turn out to be a happy ending!
Funny how the hatch door suddenly lit up, too! It just Figured the episode would end right there!

I am so mad because ABC interupted programing to give a severe weather forecast!!! The bad thing is we never even got hit with the storm! So I missed a bit of the begining! When programing came back it was in Lock's dream where Boone was covered in blood saying something about Teresa, so I am missing what happened about 5 minutes before that.

When is the season finale? I checked my TV guide online and it has re-runs listed for April 13 and April 20, but doesn't go any further into the future than that....
