Last weekend, I let Sparrow read the poem below - Nimloth's Song, to her King - and she recommended posting it on TR. Actually, if I recall correctly, she meant posting it when appropriate (a poetry contest), but I thought I might just as well put it here. If you think you already know this Song, you may be right, since it was featured in one of Desi's instalments of the Haysend RPG. Thank you, Sparrow, for your nice comments and your idea to post it on TR as a separate message.

Pearl
A thousand blooms, a thousand leaves
My heart shall be forever free
Never to be reigned by fear
For he, my Leaf, is here with me
My heart is in a thousand leaves
And so it shall forever be
A thousand flowers in his eyes
A walk beneath the silver stars
A song beneath eternal skies
My Leaf, so green, is in my heart
Bound yet free, a thousand leaves
My heart, my love, shall ever be
My heart is in a thousand leaves!
Though his, it is forever free
Always to be reigned by thee
For thou, my Leaf, art here with me
My heart is in a thousand leaves
A thousand, thousand green leaves…

Pearlbloom , you have a soft, and delicate way of expressing these deep feelings -- just the ticket on an otherwise gloomy day! Thank You for sharing your poetry here!

The imagery in this poem is elegant and refreshing; the meter and rhyme, sublime.
Thank you, Pearlbloom, for sharing it. And by the way, I loved your most recent art contest entry, too. Perhaps you can produce a fitting illustration for this poem? Although, one is hardly necessary, as I see it in my mind.
Fondly,
Sparrow

Thank you for your inspiring comments... It really means a lot to me. I'm glad you loved my latest art contest entry, Sparrow, since I cannot draw much better than that (if better at all - I was 'empty' for a while after drawing Legolas, since I had poured so much into it, if you know what I mean).
I could try to make an illustration to go with the poem, and now you've mentioned it, perhaps I will...
'Talk' to you soon!
Pearl

Yes, Pearl, I do know what you mean - something similar to Feanor after making the Silmarils, perhaps?

Mellon nîn, you know already how much I admire your work (both the writing and the drawing), but it never hurts to say it once again...
This poem is soo unbelievably beautiful, and sensitive. WheneverI read it, I'm always in a quiet mood afterwards (and that is not a bad sign at all)...

Oh... I'll do my very best to make sense of the many, many images swirling through my mind when I think of the Song, and to get some of it onto paper - but it will be terribly difficult... I'll give it a try, though. I think it should be a colourful picture, but I never draw in colour... I wish I had your skills, Majah - by the way, if you feel inclined to create one of your magnificent pictures to go with the Song... please feel free!
Sparrow: something like that, yes, perhaps - I need to reread the Silmarillion, and besides , of course I could never compare to a wonderful, magical craftsman like Feanor... Ah, never mind my silliness! I know what you mean
Alaere: yes, my friend, I know that it is not a bad sign at all
*hugs her friends*
Navaer...

Perhaps this is an appropriate picture to add here - I'm not sure where I've seen this... but it isn't difficult to imagine, I think, that this is in the Wood Elf colony in Ithilien, with a guest house to the right...
