Atar Náma
Hólorinyava náma tulca entuluva,
Away from-dreams-my desire immovable again comes,
Ana coivafëa harna ar rácina órë;
To awaken spirit wounded and broken inner heart;
Oiolasta i morna yaimëa lamma,
Ever-hearing the sombre wailing sounds,
ho peu ringa ar sarda nyéréva;
From lips cold and hard sorrow-of ;
Autaláma valdvanwava,
Go away echos happiness-gone-of,
Ava lirin anan melméva ata;
Don't sing to-me love-of again;
Ananta oi óriva námauva melmë,
And yet ever heart-my desire-will love,
Nan nucumnanyë nwalyatumnamas, Vá!
But humbled-I pain-deep-by, I will not!
Anata oi óriva námauva melmë!

Very moving Iarwain. There is something about the syntax of Elvish, that gives the modifiers more weight. The emotion sounds more personal, and I felt myself feeling much more than I would with English poetry. Very well done!!!
Glor
P.S. The Elvish translation, is also much appreciated, and the hard work involved. Thanks for giving so much of your time and effort. I could feast on these masterpieces all day.......yummm!

Iarwain,
I do not know how you do it! I bow down to your Elvish skill, Sir! Something that is very interesting to me is watching the evolution of your ability to translate and make use of this language properly. Do you realize just how good you are getting at this???
