I've watched enough episodes to sorta "get" the mythology, but, I've never watched the entire show in order, start to finish. I'm glad for you!
If only we could have a prequel or sequel for Lost, I'd be very happy!
Started watching Colony with Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost). It's on the USA Network. I like it.

This new X-Files looks really good from the previews. Lots more of the alien conspiracy theory stuff.
I have not heard of Colony. I will see if I can get that one. How many episodes or seasons have I missed?

After each episode of the X-Files airs, you can watch them here:

I was such a GEEK over the show, I even made my own FBI Badge! This first episode was awesome! eeerily awesome! Giving me the shivers down my spine!

I was also a big X-Files fan and I'm excited that it's back. I thought the first episode was decent. In a lot of ways, it was like being home again, seeing the characters and picking up the story threads where they left off. Even the opening was the same! My one gripe was that it felt very rushed. Mulder meets one girl who says she was abducted by men using alien tech and suddenly he's re-evaluating the entire conspiracy. They should have thrown in a line about this not being the first time he's heard that story. Would have been more believable (unless we're supposed to assume that Mulder is a bit unhinged and jumping to conclusions because, as always, he wants to believe).
I assume they're rushing things because it's only a miniseries, not a full season. In any case, I'm interested to see where this goes. Also, how was you-know-who still alive at the end? When last we saw him, didn't they shoot him with a missile?!

Yes, it looked pretty final to me! But Chris Carter can pull any strings he likes, I guess! I wonder what the explanation will be.
Mulder wants to believe and "they" (probably several factions) are just messing with him so he is soooooo confused that he still doesn't know what's going on. (me, to!)
I enjoyed seeing the space ship and alien from the Roswell days. That was cool. So whether it is an alien cover-up, a man-made looks-like-aliens-have-landed mock cover-up, or a human-alien joint venture, or whatever else they can dream up, it keeps you guessing (as always). Nothing is certain in the X-files!
It seems to me, there really was an alien spaceship crash. The young guy who carried away the alien body (and old man later) seems to have been doing some testing of his own, but whether it was to mingle alien and human DNA in fetuses or not, who knows. He may have just want to examine the alien just for knowledge and someone else got a hold of the DNA. That other Doctor with the wife in the nut house and the daughter and son?

Wife, Maria, is watching X-Files as I type, says it has the same actors-characters, has a funnier streak. She is watching on cable not sure what channel, Mouldy ( my name for Muldaur SP?) looks a good deal older. "Scuddy," my name for Scully (I think that's her name?) I have not seen. Wife says "Make fun of my show and I'll keel you!" So I'm off in the study now...

Yes, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are the FBI duo. Well, it has been 14 years since the final episode years ago. David Dukovany was 33 back then and is now 52. I just saw an article on the internet wondering if he had good genes or good doctors to make himself look as good as he does for 52 years of age. But yes he is older looking which you would expect. Even Jillian Anderson (Scully) looks older.
This was a much funnier episode than those I remember in the past. But I remember one episode ages ago with Luke Wilson (or was it Owen Wilson). Luke is the dark haired brother and Owen is the blonde with the crooked nose, right? Luke was a dude sheriff that Scully seemed to have the hots for. She thought he was handsome and Mulder pictured him with big buck teeth. It was an episode on the funnier side.
Even Assistant Director Walter Skinner is still on the show...Mulder and Scully's boss in the FBI. I always liked Skinner and wished he was in more episodes with a bit larger roll. Once in a while the writers would give him an episode. The actor who plays him, Mitch Pileggi, came to Chicago years ago with an X-Files exhibition down at Navy Pier. I went with a friend from OSCO Drug (where we both worked together). I made us FBI badges and we wore dark suits and sunglasses to the exhibition. I actually got to talk to Mitch Pileggi and told him that I wished he had more episodes or a larger roll in the show. He appreciated that.

Soooo . . . was Maria rolling around on the floor laughing while she was watching last night's X-Files? I bet you had to pick her up and dry her tears of laughter.

She was giggling in buckets, something about an alien turning into a naked human...

The were-lizard episode was hysterical! That was the strongest one of this new season so far and a contender for one of my favorite episodes in general. So ridiculous and great.
