Went to see Lion, Witch & Wardrobe on Sat. w/my 9 year-old granddaughter: we both loved it!!! The effects are great & justice has been done to the source! By all means go & see it soon! Vanye

I went out and bought the books so I could read them before I saw the movie. After reading the books, I suspect the movie might be much more dramatic and spectacular than the books which are very simply written for children.
My girlfriend had read these when we were kids and she told me I should read them, but I just never got around to it until now.

I've heard already so long ago about the Narnia books and C.S. Lewis, but I never got to read the books yet. So I'm definitely going to see the movie. Who knows, maybe I'll start reading afterwards too. I know my sister bought the books very recently.

Greetings, Storm! I'm ba-ack. MSN didn't let me in again. I read Chronicles also and have been anxious to see how our members felt. Of course, it doesn't touch LTR, but the CGI of movie was fantastic. I got second book discussing Christian imagery, which was quiet easy to see while reading without help. I got copies for grandchildren anyway-they already belong to JRR with their hearts (Especially youngest girl & that hot Legoles!) Great movie! Love, Camellia

I am reading the last book of Narnia, The Last Battle.
We are planning on going to the Theater on Monday the day after Christmas. We might see Narnia or King Kong--it depends on what the grandson picks! I want to see both so I won't be disappointed either way and I can always go see the other one another time. (or maybe we can watch two movies on Monday!)
Hi Camellia, I missed you! Glad to see you back! I think the grandsons will enjoy reading Narnia someday, too. Or Desi can read it to them at bedtime now once I finish this last chapter. There are a few pictures in my book, but I imagine there are some other versions of it made more for those picture loving readers.

Desi, the two boys, and I went to see "Narnia" yesterday. It was very, very good. They did not leave out anything in the book. However, I don't remember Peter, Susan, and Lucy crossing under a waterfall and the ice cracking apart which caused them to drift down river in the book.
I liked the special effects of the creatures of "Narnia" such as the fauns and centaurs. Aslan looked very real, too. I hope when the DVD comes out for sale, there is a special features disk in the set so I can see how they did that.
* * *
Now that I finished the books, I don't like how they ended, although I rather suspected something like that would happen! I don't want to comment too much on this since I passed my book on to Desi who might read it to the boys at night before bed.

Very good movie...So good that it kept the attention on my almost 2 year old during nap time! Even the begining of the movie starts out with action. I don't want to give too much away in case some have not read the book or seen it yet. There is a part where the witch stabs someone and then the movie cuts to a quieter scene and my youngest calls out "UH OH!" and everyone in the theater laughed, he was just into it so much.

I think what really got the kids attention was when the beaver talked for the first time!
I know the littlest grandson loves howling dogs and when the wolves did it in the movie he must have been howling along with them! Did he, Desi?

oh yeah he was howling with them!
I'm not sure how exciting the animals talking was for the kids cuz lots of cartoons have talking animals so they are used to seeing that in movies.
