It's an advertisement for Skyrim, a fantasy video game that's out now. One of those open-world games like Lord of the Rings Online where you can wander around having adventures. I think this one is single player though, not a multiplayer online one.
It's supposed to be really good. One of my friends is addicted to it. The live action clip is likely just a game trailer with a bigger budget than usual. It did look like a scene from the fall of Dale. Pretty cool.

RE Feddie's: "The live action clip is likely just a game trailer with a bigger budget than usual."
Yes, quite an elaborate "commercial!" I see where some of the Skyrim devotees really liked the trailer and are petitioning Bethesda, the company behind the game, to go ahead and produce a full length movie based on the trailer.

Very strange. These looked like clips from America's Funniest Home Videos with fus-ro-dah dubbed in.

Nice video. It sure looks like a teaser for some fantasy movie. That isn't the first interesting trailer that I see which is an advertisement for a game. Gaming is the next big business, apart from movies. I don't know how many millions go there, but there are many.
Skyrim is a single player, offline game. As far as I know, you cannot play it together with others online. It's role play, as you can choose the beginning of your gaming character (being human, elf or orc). The way you play will affect how your character develops. If you do lots of sword fighting, you will become a good warrior. If you never break into a house, even while you have the skill, you will never become a good thief. Interesting game play, good graphics, but I didn't play enough to enjoy the story. And of course there are also a lot of jokes about the NPC, who often say the same phrases. "I used to be an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow in the knee." But imagine the code needed to make all those non-important characters so versatile that they will behave different in every case. It's possible, but a gamer would need a great machine to run a great game engine.
More info on Skyrim: it's part of the Elder Scrolls series. I read there is an online game made for this series as well.
Continuing about movies and games, I'm definitely no fan of those movies based on games. Even while such movies use the characters of the game, and have lots that the fan would recognize, a lot of the charm is lost. Probably the fact that in a game, you're in control as player, while in a movie you are not. For me personally, the story is very important. If a good graphics game has a bad story, I will stop playing it.
