Had two really enjoyable nights at the Boone County Fair with Desi and her family. Tuesday night we (well some of us) did Team Sorting with the horses. It is a cattle sorting sport event and Desi and my husband did it and then I just rode Toi around in the arena. The youngest daughter who is 8 months pregnant couldn't stand it any more and she even did it with another girl that we knew. There really isn't to terribly much movement in the small fenced in area that they sorted in so she wasn't jostled around. Although I wouldn't have done it myself. Our family didn't do as well as most teams since we haven't done any cattle events with our horse in a while. But it was fun anyway.
Wednesday night, we went back to see a Chicagoland Beatles Tribute Band led American English. They were really really good. Brought back lot of good memories from the 60's and 70's. This band performs in our area quite a bit and Paul McCartney has even made surprise appearances with them. They have a website. www.americanenglish.com/ It was a good 2-1/2 hours of really good entertainment spanning the Beatle years and transitions. Even my Grandsons knew most of the songs. They played so many good songs but also so many other good songs weren't played. How could they pick and chose which to play, after all? So many to pick from.

Wow! That sounds kool! So you get experience in real life ranching! Got to help the grown-ups (back in 1961-62) a couple of times, when we lived at Cheyenne Wyo. Round-ups near the stables where the railroad had a cattle loading/ siding. Basically was just there to head off breakaways, had a great quarter horse named Mike, he did all the work…
Hmmm, now you've got me all nostalgic, I'll have to drag out my original Beatles vinyl today… "Norwegian Wood!"

Yes we also have done Team Penning where you have to get 3 cows with the same number out of the heard into a pen at the other end. We like that more than the sorting. Lots of fun.
Norwegian Wood is one of my all time favorites but they DIDN'T play it last night. *sob* Maybe at next year's show.
These were nice diversions from being away from LOTRO! It was fun!
