Welcome to Tolkien's Ring Silmarillion Study!
In this study, we view chapter by chapter, by summaries made by me. These summaries tell what happens in the book in a much shorter way, and at the end some questions are posed on which you can ponder. However, it's not my intention to only stick to the questions presented. If you want to go deeper into a certain theme in one of the chapters, you certainly may start a new thread.
I like to give a note though. It isn't easy to make summaries of those chapters, as, in a way, each are summaries themselves of what could have grown into tales as large as the Hobbit, if Tolkien had lived forever. The only thing I could do, is make them even shorter, take the most important and leave out all conversation. Also, I have tried to use different phrases as much as possible. To help me in this I also use a Dutch translation, which I use as base to translate back to English. These summaries don't replace the book. But I hope they can be a good help to you when you read the Silmarillion.
