Sawyer's episode was last night's repeat. I like that guy better everytime I examine people's interaction with him. They all approach him with animosity and then he gets all ruffled and then it all goes downhill.
(Did you notice how he just handed over the battery to Kate with a "All you had to do was say please" sounding like he was asking her to beg but maybe it was 'smart aleck' way of saying... 'just ask me instead of getting all demanding and insulting.'
On a popular Lost forum I visit, people either are intrigued and fascinated by him or HATE him. Really hate him! They cut him no slack at all. ("If he didn't get all pissy then people would like him better" ... well.. if people didn't get pissy with him perhaps he wouldn't react like that.) It's a great example of how we project our own personalities and stuff on the people in the stories we enjoy. Great stuff. :-)

Sawyer is the guy we LOVE to HATE! That is the whole idea! Everyone just assumes that he is out for making a profit or benefiting from everyone else. Of course, his cocky attitude adds to their feeling that way, which fuels more animosity toward him, which in turn makes him more cocky and wayward.

Deep down Sawyer is not a bad guy, but he has done some bad things. It is amazing how just because he has made some smart aleck remarks everyone treats him crappy. He did give Kate the battery after all, but when he goes to tell her the news of Jack she is still mad that he gave her a hard time so she takes a shot at him for no reason. I think she deserved him not to tell her right away about Jack. Even after all of that he still lights the fire cracker and turns on the signal (at least I think he did).
Which reminds me who knocked Sayid out at the end, I don't remember...

Who knocked Sayid out?
We don't know. Locke puts it in Sayid's head that it might have been Sawyer, saying he could have used a cigarette to rig a time-delay fuse for the rocket. Then Locke gives him a knife 'in case there's a next time'. I think this gets Sayid really distrusting Sawyer and that contributed to the ugliness of the asthma medicine episode.
Some people wonder what's up with Locke. Is he as good and noble as it seems or is he in league with the island for getting what he wanted (to walk)? Maybe Locke is working against efforts to get off. He sure did poison Sayid's mind against Sawyer and I'm still not sure just what Sawyer has done wrong except getting pretty mouthy. I think anyone who's survived the murder/suicide of their parents is allowed to be a little messed up. No one cuts that man any breaks.

I have often wondered about Locke. My mom just told me that he was the one that couldn't walk before the crash on the island. I think with that miracle happening to him his whole idea on being stranded is different fromeveryone else.

I think the person who knocked Sayid out is the odd number person who showed up and kidnapped Charlie and the pregnant girl (can't remember her name)....I think he did not want them to find the French woman and that was his way of keeping them from connecting to the signal they were trying to pick up. Desi thinks he is the French woman's son.
Locke does seem as though he feels there is something special about the island....as if it is the reason he can now walk. I would not doubt that he wants to stay on the island and never be found. Can you blame him after the way his co-workers and the guy who ran the bus service to take him to the Walk-athon thing he wanted to be a part of were treating him? He is probably afraid that if he leaves the island, he will be back in the wheel-chair.

Yes, Magpie, this morning, I saw that there were going to be reruns for the next two weeks. I enjoy the reruns almost as much as the first run because I can catch more "stuff". Does anybody else feel that way? And then February 9th, I'll be so excited for the next first run episode, I won't know what to do with myself waiting and waiting. I got it bad... Thanks for the link, Fan

Yeah... I agree about the reruns. I'm so spoiled having LOTR on DVD and being able to slow things down and do screen caps.... I know you can get Lost as a torrent download, but I don't have the patience.

I will enjoy the reruns too. I almost had a horrible night cuz the channel 17 transmitter or something was out and no programing was coming through on that channel, but right as LOST started it came back on!!!
I feel so bad for Micheal. If Walt only new the real side of his mom and Brian! I personally do not like Walt's mom, she was a horrible person. Brian was an honest guy, but he must have really loved her to adopt Walt when he didn't want to, at least he was man enough to go to Micheal and let him have the boy. I think it would have been horrible for Walt to grow up with a step father that didn't want him and only a nanny to take care of him.

I'm starting to get addicted to this show too. For a while, I missed quite a bit of it since it airs at the same time as one of my other favorites, Smallville. But over these past couple weeks, I was reminded of just how damn good "Lost" is. Now I have to watch it!
This show is so amazingly well-written and acted. But it's also infuriating. Each episode ends with me even more confused and wanting to know just what the heck is going on with that island!
