Okay, that song was too much...it's running around in my head. Argh!
I saw this featured in this week's Entertainment Weekly:
Look what we found... ''Lost'' novel to solve show's mystery? -- ''The Third Policeman'' may offer answers to the ratings giant's secrets by Gilbert Cruz Those obsessive Lost fans who read way too much into the ABC hit's cryptic situations may find more clues in Flann O'Brien's The Third Policeman (Dalkey Archive, $12.95), which was featured in the show's hatch-centric Oct. 5 episode. The Irish writer's 1967 novel follows a murderer involved in a series of time- and space-bending adventures. Dalkey's Chad Post suspects there might be a connection between the underground bunker of Lost's Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) and a Policeman passage in which cops take the murderer to a subterranean tunnel that just happens to be...Eternity. ''There's a labyrinth of rooms that repeat over and over again,'' Post says. ''And there's one room where you can get whatever you want, but you can't take it back up with you.'' But get this (spoiler alert): At Policeman's end, the murderer learns he's been dead the entire time. How does that relate to the everyone-is-dead theory Lost fans have repeatedly floated? Says Post: ''That's the part I think is a red herring.'' (Show reps were, as usual, mum.) (Posted:10/07/05)
Is anyone familiar with this book?

So I've been thinking about the most recent episode and it sure seemed like we got a big piece of the puzzle with that orientation video.
Evidently, the island was a research facility. That would explain some of the things that have happened though not all. The most interesting little tidbit in the video to me was the polar bears. Was the one that attacked the group already there and not a manifestation of Walt's power? Did Walt summon but not create it? Also, a friend pointed out to me that the shark that attacks Michael and Sawyer has a corporation symbol tatooed on it (you can see it very briefly as it swims by). So it looks like everything on the island was part of a controlled experiment.
But then there's the "incident" mentioned in the video. So while the island does seem to be a corporation or goverment experiment, there is also something paranormal at work that the scientists didn't anticipate. Hmmm.....

And no one seems to know just what will happen if the code is not entered and the button pushed every ... what was it ? 180 minutes? What a hassle to have to keep that up! Aarrgg! At least there are enough people on the island to take turns pushing the button so that it doesn't get to be a real drag!
About the book and the other theory about everyone really being dead ... Considering everyone crashed on an airplane, that would make a lot of sense! All the crash victims are now in an eternal hell on this island!
Hey! I know! If they don't push the dang button on time, then their eternal hell is over with and they can go rest in peace like everyone else does! End of show! lol!
Naaah....I am just not going to try to make heads or tails of any of the plot twists. I am just going to watch and not try to second guess, suggest theories, or figure out anything that is happening. I am just going to sit and wait and see what happens!

Just got my TV GUIDE (Oct. 17-23, 2005)...there's a great article on Lost, entitled, "Lost: Burning Questions" (pgs. 18-20). Note that the article does contain some spoilers. Also, check out the Hanso Foundation's website: www.thehansofoundation.org/

I loved learning more about Hugo Hurley last night! I wonder what happened between him and his skinny friend after his friend found out he was the lottery winner!
When the blonde woman from the Other group of survivors said that 23 survived and they arrived at their hiding place to find only a few left, I thought "Oh! No! they are eating them!" Especially since the dark haired woman is so tough and mean.
I liked how the show ended on a peaceful friendly note with the sharing of the new found food.

Last nights episode didn't have too much action, but it had some interestng parts.......I thought it was great how Hurley just gave out the food right away instead of trying to make it last and having everyone fighting over it......It was funny how when he told Jack his plan Jack just agreed and Hurley was shocked by it.
I am very curious to find out what happened to the missing 23 from the other group...I too thought oh no they are eating them!
